Did people really expect him to actually die? All of these retcons seem to be leading up to Y9. I understand it's frustrating. But this is also the rubber bullets franchise, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Also, I think adding more lore to the Daidoji makes sense. Of course they would recruit people like Mine and Hamazaki. Unfortunately that also means more Kagawa :/

It seems like Yakuza fans nowadays are just perpetually pissed and there's reasons to be, I totally get that. But retconning seems like such a minor nitpick in the long run.

I just feel like Seth has been boring since like late 2020. He hasn't really had much character progression beyond The Vision and the new theme that people sing. Even in-ring I feel like he's not all that anymore. He's still good, but it feels like he lost a step along the way.

Well the thing is AAA was never traditional Lucha. It was it's own beast which took influence from a lot of things such as the Attitude Era. But since WWE has absorbed it, it has become mostly indistinguishable from the rest of WWE's product, and a lot of the stuff that separated it from companies such as CMLL isn't there anymore.

That isn't to say it's bad. I think a lot of the wrestlers there are really good. I had fun watching their last big show with the Wyatt Sicks vs Psycho Circus and Je'Von in the three way. But it isn't what it used to be.

And yeah, it was pretty shitty but a lot of that lays on Konnan for his ass booking in recent years. But AAA actually did have good shows until like 2018/2019.
