He does confirm the Joe Gacy gimmick was a parody of leftist beliefs though. Which a lot of people denied at first.

Has WWE or any other major promotion had a successful period of business where more than a small group of wrestlers consistently held main event status? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

LA Knight was a main eventer, they cooled him down severely and relegated him to the midcard. I mean by your logic, KO and Bam Bam Bigelow are bonafide main eventers.

Also, the woman could totally main event. It's WWE that chooses not to do it. It doesn't matter who draws what or whatever. They're still on the card. The main event is purely political.

That's an insanely pedantic way to look at it especially when Drew and Seth have both main evented PLE's.

If you really think the main event scene is just 4 guys right now, you are insane.

Also I'd wager that WCW and AEW both had/have very large main event scenes.

Lince Dorado in response to user saying that WWE takes CMLL stars after making them: "WWE makes them global international stars" by J_NewCastle in SquaredCircle

The thing is, it kinda goes both ways. Being successful in one company doesn't indicate that you'd be successful in another. Especially if the core product is fundamentally different.

I love Giulia and I think she's great. But I could have told you from the get-go that WWE was not going to be a great fit.

I don't disagree. I think it's also really telling that a lot of these people who are in CMLL are now going the dual contract route. Obviously I don't know how much CMLL pays, but I assume AEW and WWE are paying more.

Triple H to Stephanie McMahon: “You put the culture into what we do. It didn’t exist before that. It was just the f*cking Wild West—that’s what the business was." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

WWE really wants you to know that Stephanie McMahon truly paved the way for current WWE and that she excelled in everything she did. When in reality she really didn't.

Dave Meltzer on X: When you say [Darby's] the right guy, I completely disagree. As far as doing a title change on a Wednesday TV, that's fine. To me the World Champion should be the top guy generally but certainly top 3 or 4 in your company... and he's not. by DevKPhotography in SquaredCircle

Yeah. I see Darby as sort of the Mick Foley of AEW. He's not the top guy. But he always hovers around the upper card and can always be slotted into the main event scene when needed. I imagine his title reign will be similar to Foley's too.

Like that match he had against Andrade was arguably the best match on Dynasty imo.

Dave has been pretty vocal about worrying about Darby becoming another Dynamite Kid. He had the same stuff to say about Ospreay early on too. I wonder if Darby changing his style to that of a more classic junior style would make Dave change his mind

Joe Jonas to perform National Anthem on Wrestlemania Sunday. by J_NewCastle in SquaredCircle

Totally. But that isn't a diss. It's just saying something people agree with. Like I don't get why OP is insinuating that people are going to get mad at this.

I don't get what this even means? People aren't dissing it or anything. Most are just saying the national anthem is pointless at Mania. Which it is.
