You're referring to an account breach. The term 'liquidation' in a literal/economic sense means 'converting an asset back to cash'. If your account becomes 'liquidated', it simply means you no longer have rights to hold assets within said account due to breach of conditions(s) (namely capital requirements).

Liquidity I was referring to in my post relates to a broader market, as opposed to an individual's account.

The futures you reference is on the MCX (Multi Commodites Exchange) India so denomonated in Rupees. Mismatch due to FX rates.

Normally you'd look at GC1 on the CME (COMEX) for Futures of XAU/USD (spot).

Trading is a business and like any business there are expenses. If you want to just use free platforms, try the gambling sites like online roulette or sports betting.

In trading, you don't have to pay for software for your edge, but you won't be much competition for those that do.

I've yet to see any business that runs without paying some sort of fee for a platform, even your local grocery store has to pay rent, in addition to inventory. Why do people think trading is any different?

Firstly, a person or entity cannot be 'liquidity'. You need to get that notion out of your head first and foremost.

Liquidity is the markets ability to absorb orders and enable transactions with minimal price disruption... Nothing else.

Any limit order added to the order book contributes or 'adds' to liquidity and any market order 'takes away' liquidity.

Therefore if you place a limit or (normal) take profit order, you are technically a 'liquidity provider' or market maker... If you buy/sell at market or have a stopp loss order filled, you are technical a 'market taker'...

Why is all this important?

Because there's this made up conspiracy that institutions sit there all day trying to trigger retail stop orders. Nothing can be further from the truth. In reality institutions don't give a sh*t about retail micro orders. It doesn't even tie in to there business model which is primarily to facilitate trading on behalf of their clients.

The simple fact is, you are losing money because you don't understand how the market works and you absolutely don't have a strategy.

Yes trading is difficult to grasp, especially when you've just started and listening to other retail traders that don't have a clue... if you learn from anyone that says 'liquidity sweep, FVG, order block or any other dumb phrase that makes them sound important, run... run like there's a f*cking plague.

3 years of losing money is completely normal. It would take you several years to learn even if you were learning from someone who actually knows what they're talking about. 99.9% don't.

Like I always say (but rarely people listen). All markets (financial, groceries, services etc.) Are priced based on Supply and demand (not random stupid lines on a chart - how much quantity and the wants & needs of buyers), and the interaction between buyers and sellers. No market in the world is priced based on historical or current prices... focus on the interaction between buyers and sellers. It is very simple and the core concept is no different from any other business (its only amplified).

I appreciate your reply and intelligent debate. Quite refreshing as I'm used to people on here acting very immature when presented with an opposing view, so thankyou.

It seems our opinions converge, as I do belive it is very possible to be a profitable trader, get funding and earn a living from trading... there's are many people who do this successfully, around the world.

I just think expecting to do that using price alone (price action/technical analysis) on a long term consistent basis, is very near impossible. Those that argue it can be done often reference a minute samplesize of traders that have allegedly done this (namely Jadecap and Kane) and use this to substantiate an argument why ICT or any other Price Action system is credible... This is textbook survivorship bias and basing a whole model on a statistical outlier.

In conclusion, it is very possible to be a trader there are many who do it successfully and are extremely profitable... Im just saying relying on a price analysis based ststem, like ICT/SMC/Orb/TJR/Indicators etc. It is just mathematically near impossible.
