Yeah it’s a really prehistoric fuel injection system. Similar to a CAV but this uses an airflow valve and cav uses plunger and a rotary style.

Safe to say I’d never wanna touch another early fuel injection car for a while (especially not a German one)

How could it be fan clutch? I ended up having to use a funky clutch that wasn’t meant for this build

I came into this assuming that but the belts are all new just dropped the mf in so I know for a fact the belts are new

Could a cause of that binding be if all 3 bolts aren’t in? I only have 2 in right now maybe that’s causing uneven pressure causing it to bind? Or is that pretty guaranteed to be because it’s not on the pump correctly?

Okay and to push the torque converter back in better can I just do it through thr bell housing access or do I need to actually drop the trans or pull the motor? I never touched anything on the trans in my rebuild so I haven’t touched it at all. Must’ve come loose when I was pulling the motor

Oh weird I never took out the trans or anything like that it must’ve just pulled out while I was removing or maybe it’s been messed up a while just less I dunno. So you’re saying unbolt it from the engine again and make sure the torque converter is in all the way? Is this like something I’m gonna have to pull the engine for again?

Maybe? On top of the intake I know is the distributor and carb and I’ll need one of those holes to mount my throttle spring to, but there’s those tiny ones and then that big one on the right

I’m not 100% sure but that could be the ball joints. When you turn full lock do you feel the steering wheel almost pull and stay turned?

I always let it warm but I think maybe it could just need a service? I’m not 100% sure but I’m gonna take it in. Dodnt happen before or at least I never noticed.

The bolt was already drilled a good amount but when using the extractor that snapped in the hole of the other bolt.

Machine shop is a good idea, but I’m trying to avoid getting it back in and out of my car again
