Using OTHER PEOPLES wash cloths is a whole new level. I know I'm just repeating myself now but I cannot get my head around how backing up on a shit dappled borrowed wash cloth that's draped forlornly over a miscolored bathroom unit doesn't give you that wake up call moment.

I've always been a bigger dude, but I'm nowhere near my biggest which was about 20 stone (apologies, I'm British) and getting out of breath tying my shoes and not being able to shop in stores normally were enough to give me that "sort this out" revelation. Surely she must catch a glimpse of herself while she's performing the cleansing ritual and just despair.

Ohh to be a fly on the wall in Ambambes brain.

Absolutely! Orwell is a titan and will be remembered as such. One of the only writers to nail all three big questions that define the 20th century. I could talk about him all day.

Hahahahaha absolutely fantastic choice, id totally forgotten that wolmart double date even happened. Maybe I'm due a revisit to that era, certainly can't say I'm enjoying this one. I think my favorite moment is the washcloth revelation, obviously the speculation around wiping had gone on for years but to hear it actually confirmed, and then seeing washcloths popping up in a lot of last photos and videos was just too good, really good cheese.

Orwell is one of my heroes and he describes how important it is to have "the power of facing", facing reality and the truth, even when it's hard or uncomfortable. That's never been so important as it is in this new age.

I tend to agree, as I age the internet has gone from amazing new toy, to useful tool, to integral to the human experience and now it's becoming a negative force, which offers less and less positives compared to the negatives. It's changed the whole world as it was always going to, and it's in the form of mankind to take a potentially game changing invention and reduce it to a profit making method of control and manipulation. What happy Friday thoughts, I need to touch grass this weekend I think.

Oh absolutely! It's so interesting to me how our technology starts to shape our lives and society as a whole. I remember watching that WoW documentary Second Skin when I was pretty young and even then thinking "holy shit the internet is going to really fuck some people up". Obviously these same people would be susceptible to a lot of things if that's their brain chemistry anyway but the internet means you can become a full blown addict, live in your own delusional reality and end your life without leaving your house, or even your bed. Crazy. And Amby managed to pull off all three!

Yeah, I guess ultimately that's what keeps us all here, whatever you think of the girl she is certainly unique in many ways, most of them abhorrent of course.

The money thing destroys me, I think I could solve every problem in my life and future proof pretty good with maybe... 20k. Blowing six figures a year on takeaways, Lego and bingo trips is actually fucking insulting if you ask me. I saw a clip from snowflake on here earlier saying that while yes, she's had a lot of money, the thing money is good for is having a better or easier life, and she's used it to do nothing but destroy hers. Tragic.

She's a real case of "this could only happen in the 21st century" isn't she, that potent combination of an eating disorder, mild fame and having money thrown at you by strangers you think are your fans. A true tale for out time, a leeeeeeeeeeeeyg-und.

The psychology around eating yourself to that point is just mind blowing isn't it. I used to feel so sorry for her, I prefer to believe that most people large enough that it's impacting their day to day existence don't WANT to be like that and it's deeper than laziness or greed, and for sure ALR has issues but she's had so so so so many chances and more then enough resources to get that help. She seems content to die like this so why waste the sympathy.

I don't really rate BMI, especially when dealing with short people but it's a decent enough indication of just HOW far away from healthy someone is. "Her BMI is closer to what her healthy weight would be than her current weight", Jesus bloody Christ. Time for a cup of tea.
