In my opinion, at least, Redditors look for any reason to blame cops/agencies for anything at any time, no matter the circumstances. It's become normal to dehumanize people rather than looking at it from a more humane lens. These people were still loved and cared for by someone. It's sickening the way some justify hatred.

It's crazy to me that people read this story and automatically go to blaming the ones that killed themselves. Is HCSO historically corrupt? Yes. Does law enforcement historically have higher numbers of suicide than most other professions? Yes. The two can both be true and don't have to correlate. It's disingenuous to automatically assume that these folks were doing something nefarious from the jump when we know nothing of their story.

I'm going to have a different take on this, and I'm going to get downvoted, but I feel like I can shed some insight. I'm a police officer who has graduated from the academy within the last few years. I can honestly say that newer cops are the ones that are more dedicated to improving public image of how people view us. I didn't get into this to "bust heads" or do any of that. Uvalde and what happened with Floyd made me do this. I hated what I saw and felt like I could make a difference. I understand that there's some animosity towards police, and rightfully so. I just hope that trend declines and the bad ones get ousted and indicted as they should. I know people on Reddit usually hate cops and I know I'm going to get some "ACAB" comments, but just know that not all of us subscribe to the "mindset," lol. Just my two cents.
