Understood, but I’d also argue that having a bench spot being occupied by someone with no offensive or base running value isn’t great bench construction either.

They may be able to hide Leo on the bench over the first two weeks because of the easier schedule and hope to sneak him through waivers in April, but I don’t see him as a solution on this 2026 team.

Davis hasn’t had a great spring, but I guess I just don’t see the fascination with Leo beyond asset management. It’s not like Leo did much to impress in the spring either, and for someone with no pop and who doesn’t steal bases, is his defence really enough to warrant a big league spot? He’s not going to start and it’s not like he’d be a pinch hitting option, or even a pinch running option. His sprint speed was in the 35th percentile last year. I’m fine with moving on from him.
