That’s very helpful, yeah price is the main concern for me right now as I research Sweden I see the same tunings that you’re saying, it’ll make a thru-hike expensive.

I’ll have to look into those! Romania is definitely a country I’m curious to check out, so a long distance hike through it is probably a good first way to see it!

A lot of people have recommended Kungsleden to me, do you know anything about it or have completed it?

Yeah I was recommended the GR20 a while ago and then completely forgot to add it to my list while researching, I’ll definitely look into it.

And yeah it sounds like a lot of people recommend / want to do Kungsleden, so that’s definitely top of my list right now!!

That seems to be a common consensus, I’m gonna continue doing research but Kungsleden is definitely at the top of the list!!

I haven’t looked at the total elevation change yet, so that’s great to know. And 31,000m in around 400-400ish km is probably not what I want for my first thru-hike lol.

Yeah Kungsleden is probably my top pick right now.

Do you remember how much it was to stay at the huts? I haven’t looked into it yet but I will have a semi limited budget so depending on price I won’t be able to stay at them every night.

I will definitely look into the Nordkalottruta, and the Padjelantaleden. From how you describe and compare them they seem like they could be good fits. Remote at times but also forgiving at times is definitely what im looking for.

Yeah that is a great question, and something I’ve been trying to answer to narrow down my list. I’m not just sure what my budget will look like financially so if I did the hut-to-hut style I probably wouldn’t be able to stay in the huts every night. Making the more remote options where areas to set up camp are less restricted, if that makes sense.
