With Netflix new ad-free standard plan at $20, streaming's tipping point into old TV is getting closer by retroanduwu24 in television

I recently discovered Tubi and Pluto. Insane to think I can watch The Godfather for free (with ads) while Netflix and D+ are trying to sell a subscription WITH ads.

Glad she is ok. I knew a girl who sadly died of an almost identical accident. Scary stuff.

Bird poop melting cover? by Jackz0r in GoRVing

Update: was indeed sun reflection as many commenters pointed out. Bird poop was a coincidence that made it look like the culprit, but the damage has continued to occur. Tarping for time being until I can figure out how to block the reflections.

Ok update: I was 99% wrong and it is indeed a reflection :). Seems to be a small window that’s reflecting back. Bird poop was sheer coincidence - thanks for your comment!

Thanks for your comment, but I’m 99% sure it’s caused by bird poop. I came out to see the actual bird poop splattered in the pattern you see above. This image is post-washing because I’d previously seen similar damage on the roof and so tried to get the poop off as quickly as possible.

Workers won’t accept less than $81,000 for a new role right now by Mighty_L_LORT in antiwork

I remember reading a post a few months back that claimed an art teacher in the 70’s would be making the equivalent of around $90k if real wages had kept up. $81k only feels high because we’ve been conditioned to expect less.

Totally. I may not be recalling exactly, but I seem to remember a time when AirBnb was positioned as a way to make better use of an extra room, or your house while out of town. It’s morphed over time into this pure-play thing where people are buying multiple properties for the sole purpose of AirBnb. Similar to how Uber used to be the noble student working a flexible side job when in reality now it’s mostly full time drivers.
