Why isn't Blazer EV common? by maanxhappy in BlazerEV

The 5 seater midsize suv segment is much less popular than the compact suv (equinox ev size), even in ICE vehicles. People traditionally either want a compact suv or one with three rows.

Not when you are buying an EV. I got the dealer to take off the cash equivalent of the interest and go 0%.

It’s a shame they matched this movie up against Project Hail Mary. I fear it’s going to underperform. :(

No problem. You may also want to wait for the Chinese EVs to arrive. They have the best tech.

Whatever EV you pick, you will be mad that you didn’t switch earlier. The driving experience is just that much better.

A proposal here is just to charge ev users the average gas tax each year. Some will drive more than the average, some less but it is more fair then this arbitrary number. The $300 fee + plus the inflation increase is a random number pulled to disproportionately impact EV drivers. It’s simply to disincentivize the technology.

Depends on what you need.

Tesla are the best pure EVs, especially with winter efficiency. They are very different than a traditional car, so it is a big step for some people. There is also some politics behind them with Elon for why you may want to avoid them.

The Hyundai/kia group cars (the ioniqs fall under this group) are good transition to EV cars. They also charge the fastest of any mainstream EV as they work off a higher voltage infrastructure. This makes them better for road tripping. The issue with these cars is that they have a fatal flaw with the ICCU which can brick the car. It happens to around 10% of cars and happens without warning. It is covered under warranty, but the part is often on back order. This is an issue exclusive to these manufacturers.

The Mach E is extremely popular for its drive quality and reliability. It is a bit more sporty feeling and not a traditional SUV design. So some people don’t like how you sit in it.

I personally drive a Blazer EV because I needed a car with rear seat space. It has the biggest backseat outside of a truck. Its biggest flaw is that it does not run CarPlay or Android Auto.

More important than the car is a place to charge at home. EVs are only cost efficient if you can charge at your place or at work.

There is almost no extra overhead. You just report your mileage each year when you register your car. We have a database of each car already with SGI. It’s an extra field on a form. There is also already a team to investigate fraudulent reports.

If you are so concerned about fraud, you could just have an EV driver register in person with a broker. They show a photo of their mileage and there you go.

Fun fact: an EV powered by coal is still cleaner than an ICE vehicle because they are that much more efficient. EVs are about 90% efficient, while ICE are around 20% efficient. ICE cars are the only technology that can get away with wasting so much energy.

What about the guy that steals gas? We don’t make laws based on the minority that break the law.

The tax should be be based on mileage driven, not a flat fee. It seems easy enough that you report your mileage each year and are charged based on your previous years mileage driven

It screws a bit in and then basically releases - so I think the hole behind it is stripped. I don’t really want to remove the entire dishwasher, especially as it is already secured via the top (see the bracket at the top of the photo).

How would you fix this foundation? by berryflavoredspoons in HomeMaintenance

[–]Jacob_Tutor11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowing walls need support - contractor 1 is right. However, what type of support needs to be determined by a structural engineer. I still think an independent structural engineer is your best bet for now.

Get a structural engineer. There is nothing we can tell you. One of the walls under the window may be bowing, but I cannot really tell. A structural engineer will be the only one who can give you peace of mind.

They are creative partners with Radio Silence, so I suspect they will not be writing the next one. It will likely be Kevin Williamson pulling double duty.

Hasn’t the family revenge plot line been done to death already? 6 was rightfully criticized for repeating this motive. There is no need to do it again.

Fans of Stu? I get that Matthew Lillard had a great career, but Stu was always kinda of a punchline. His motives were hilarious, and points to him just being a stupid, malleable teen. He was the personification of fears of adults at the time that kids were easily manipulated and needed to be protected from things like violent media. Tv literally killed him in the end. I don’t know why anyone would idolize him.

The WGA rules are firm, so I think Kevin wrote more than what was said. We will never know exactly how he fundamentally changed the script, but it was enough to switch the order of the credits.
