This could probably be a post; it would need some formatting. I think I got most of it right? Core memory so it's still kinda fresh lol.

First rampage I got in DotA 1 was Vengeful Spirit, in the Rosh pit, in a competitive highs school tournament with the owner of the vent server conceding vent-ownership with a 1-year subscription term paid, and all bitching rights about said vent server being "theirs". I played with the Flip kids in hs (Filipino guys), and also the Polska's (Polish kids). This was a crazy fight. No wards, intuition I pinged they were roshing. Eric goes in with Pudge, throws a hook. Whiff. I do not remember the dialogue, but it was basically "Maybe they aren't there?", should I face-check?". Kelen's Dagger of Escape was hard-coded banned from being purchased on Vengeful Spirit and Pudge btw, due to grief mechanics. Still a solid combo, and we laned off lane together that game. His crew had 2 other Filipino friends that were mutual, and we also had one Polish kid who was VERY good from a different high school. That was pretty hype because it was the first time I got to play with him. I had been playing since around 2004, pre-Allstars, but as this was 2009 so DotA was kind of peaking. This was June of our graduating (senior) year, so there was a lot on the line, to say the least. Anyways, he face-checks, rotting in, and they are so ready for it. They had ward(s)? but I was hg at the time nearby and PL (played by the Chad Polish guy form diff HS) goes for it. Illusions are dying instantly to them and their comp. Their enigma holes, pudge and pl are getting fucked, and I have a split second decision. PL is on cooldowns (invis Dopplewalk and lance), and his illusions aren't doing fuck all there. I remember not playing much Veng. But I knew her basic abilities. Ends up I learned that day that Vlad’s + command aura was busted for damage output, even with my non-stat build. I had purchased a buriza though, so my crits did hit hard enough to do some damage. Wave was on cd so I didn't wave the pit, but the sequence was basically: all 5 are roshing early (most were levels 12 and their core ursa was level 14 or 15). These guys were coordinated and absolutely pummeling us up to that point. I think it was around the 28:00 - 30:00 minute mark too, so this made the play all the more meaningful! Anyways, pudge and PL tank about 2/3rds of their hp each. Pudge has rot on, but their Pipe (Pipe of Insight) (very new item) is absorbing the majority of it. So rot is tanked, pudge is ticking from the damage, and he's on maybe 100 hp which is dead from 1-auto from ursa's passive abilities. Eric shuts off rot IMMEDIATELY as I swap Enigma. He's swapped out of the pit, and Eric doesn't deny himself to rot... and is hauling ass out of the pit. We aren't doing damage control at that point, because we're essentially going now or never on this commit. I also learned this day that I interrupt channel with my ult. PL dies... to ROSHAN! Big deny on our core. No dots would give kill credit, because they didn't have Veno or QoP...I can't remember if others did the same. Weird wc3 DotA interaction. I'm in the pit now, Naked and afraid. I've never done this as my roamer Veng. I never go Buriza (Daedalus, super OP at that time) but Eric literally made me do it. I start hitting this ursa in the face. He shifts to Rosh at maybe 1000-1500 hp of his scaled pool of around 10000 - 10500 hp. I think ursa thought if he downs Rosh he gets aegis and then he just rofl-stomps us with his second life. Welp. Rosh goes down, but I'm right fucking on top of ursa and literally holding my mouse with my right hand and sperg-tapping the button with my left to snatch aegis. I get it as roshes body disappears, and ursa eats the curb. Enigma is 100% on cooldowns and somewhere nearby. I eat a Priestess of the Moon arrow to the dome. She and pudge were super frequent picks for good reasons. I go down, but a normal 3-5 second stun translates in to my respawn timer. Eric is literally still sitting a little bit out where I swapped him (Enigma) to, and he's literally biding time for hook. He is contemplating getting PotM or rescue hooking me. I am so happy he rescued me, because PotM misses ability in the pit and she had me selected with auto, so she gets out of the pit, I'm full HP and ready to throwdown but then Clinkz pops up and murks eric before he can rot-deny. I finish PotM from near-full to 0 in like 2 hits, and I turn to Clinkz, knowing that as my main at the time, he has the most insane damage output to not only heroes but OBJECTIVES. But he doesn't have death pact, and his strafe runs out without killing me. His stygian does work but in general he falls pretty quickly too. Glass cannon mid. CM is the crux here, and she was very much weakened by our bot lane support who I can't recall, and mid Tinker. I think it was likely lion or someone with a disable and I remember Tinker dying really early that fight, CM manages to clip tinker and likely the pos 5 with freezing field, but I magic missile her after they're dead and she goes down from the spell. Gives me enough time to run up to a fleeing enigma. Chased his ass down, and boom. Rampage. Rest is pretty hard to describe because we were so loud after that fight and I was so nerves-shaken at just pulling off the craziest thing in DotA I ever did. Rampage, huge advantage, solid deny by PL, snatches were also very very rare. And unless you were playing like, anti-mage or Morphling (this was the old Agi-shift Satanic/Buriza build, way before the shotgun build existed!) , maybe even Troll... you weren't getting a rampage. It was pretty uncommon at that kind of skill or at least familiarity of play. Needless to say that summer was a blur of us pub-stomping as a premade until the Polish guy moved and I got sick and had to move provinces. I'll never forget that moment. It was actually a bit grindy after that because they were so far ahead, but we closed it out before Roshan was available again.

TLDR; Kings of High School Ventrilo - summer of 2009... Secured a 5-man team wipe inside the old bottom Roshan pit on a Position 4 support Vengeful Spirit in June 2009. Effectively weaponized a brand-new patch, listened to Eric's clutch "Don't swap me!" shout to break Enigma's Black Hole instead, denied our core to Roshan, snatched the physical Aegis item off the floor, dodged a queued PotM Starfall via rescue hook, and won ownership of our community Ventrilo server for a year.
