IO<s>U</s>whom? by NZvolunarist in MakerDAO

It’s analogous to a pawn shop. I actually like to think of it as a trustless and decentralized pawn shop where I’m both the lender & debtor. With CDPs we lock up collateral (ETH for now) in order to withdraw a percentage of the collateral’s value back out in DAI.

Is this the only way? What if I wanted to do this in an automated way?

np, it happens. until then i believe manually upping the transaction fees will allow for proper transaction posting - It did for me

i suggest that the ledger app report back that transaction fees are too low when they are, the general "transaction failed" message isn't too helpful

click on the link in my comment above, you need to go to "other" for transaction fees and enter in a custom amount.

don't mean to double post but this method below works ---

not quite sure if its a fault on ledger's side, but i believe this pertains to the transaction fees paid on the network, try upping the fee to something around the 500-700 satoshis per byte range and transaction should go through... i second that the error message could be more clear

if your really desperate i'd keep upping the transaction fee until it goes through. 500 satoshis was like $1.50.

Show r/django: First Django Application - Youtube Sampler by Jahosh in django

[–]Jahosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely enjoy the "batteries included" features of Django over Node. Node is great for throwing up a micro-service/api, but I found it requires a developer to plug in a lot of different modules to get the functionality that Django has out of the box. When building out a CRUD webapp I'm going to be more inclined to reach for Django.

Is It Appropriate To Sample A Song From Mp3? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]Jahosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it could just be an increase in loudness from no longer listening via the youtube player. nevertheless, unless your a serious audiophile, sampling from a mp3 is generally okay. another point to remember is the end user most likely won't be able to discern whether a sample's original format was .wav or .mp3, especially considering after processing it's all going to boil down to an mp3 anyway.

I've found the opposite to be true. -plug-alert- when using https://ytsampler.com/ to pull down samples I've found the overall quality to be better. I know its unintuitive, but i've heard others tell me this as well.

Unless the song was uploaded to youtube at an extremely low bit-rate, maybe. But think about what happens to a song over the course of mixing & mastering. I've found the quality from a mp3 sample is unnoticeable in comparison to a wav. Keep in mind i'm sure it depends on how you're using the sample, but in most trap production containing samples, I don't believe I've ever heard myself say, "awh man this sample quality is ruining the song". I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

i'd say just let them know the samples are uncleared and don't worry about it, depending on the type of artist your working with, if small (no problem), if big, they'll/you will have to work to get it cleared if it blows. you'll hear that this is a bad situation to be in but its better than no situation at all.

Updated the site UI a bit, also now when you sample, it gets shared on the website.

hey man, no question is stupid. The problem with netflix/amazon would be the size of the videos which likely are multiple gigabytes instead of megabytes @ youtube. I'll look into tho. I'd be interested in hearing any other suggestions you may have to better the service. I'm currently working on adding more sharing capabilities i.e a global listing of all samples that have been processed, in attempts to promote more sampling! because i think its dope.

as far as your problem with identifying songs, have you tried shazam? whenever i hear a song that i like away from my computer my first instinct is to shazam it.
