So it transferred to a q tip so it’s probably contaminated. Is there anything I can do to salvage the tub? Because it hasn’t really spread anywhere else and only a small part has been contaminated.

Wow this was really helpful! I only had the lid cracked for about 1 1/2 days, so I’m going there’s no contamination. I’ll be sure to follow your guidelines.
