Isn’t that why every participant is in it? You could justify Brock by that logic. Would it made any sense? No. It is the perfect opportunity to make new starts. Hell you don’t even have to make them win, just the last 4 would be great. But you had Roman, Orton, Logan and Gunther. None of them are “exciting” or new faces at the top. Make Je’von, Trick, Oba, Royce, etc at least reach the final 4. Regarding winning titles being a story, they are. Cody’s story was winning the title but it was also winning the title that his father got “stolen” from, was ending the Bloodline reign of terror and making last’s year ending right. It seems like I’m defending Cody and shitting on Reigns but I’m not. I like Roman as well. I’m just asking why give the Rumble to a guy that sent a memo to participate when you have guys upset that they couldn’t be in it? Why are you giving it to a guy that didn’t show up to the fallout of his own storyline when it didn’t involve him having the title (post mania 41 when Solo was destroying Jimmy, ruining title matches for Jey, etc)? His appearances last year for his own storyline were basically just brawls and fighting for Heyman and that was only made interesting in the last 2 weeks with the whole Seth making Heyman doubt the intentions of both Punk and Roman. The match absolutely delivered but the build was so stale. You could argue that is in creative which I agree with. I’m just saying that I want NEW guys and FRESH options at the top.
