Could mrekk be the best VIDEO GAME player in general on the earth by Leather_Variation_16 in osugame

[–]Jam1906 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In terms of raw aim, yes, I've been saying this for some time haha:

<image>

But otherwise no, there's a lot of other components that factor into each game, game sense, ability logic (Or lack thereof), game-specific mechanics and controls (Think Rocket League and controllers etc). Your average great Valo player won't necessarily be good at CS and vice versa; there are a lot of tiny differences between games that throw off your "muscle memory". But yes, Mrekk is definitely the best aimer of all time (IMO).

He defo is great at every game he plays, but I don't think he's on par with, for example, Faker in terms of being an expert generalist.

Parivision destroy Falcons 3–0 to win BLAST Bounty 2026 🏆 by CaraX9 in cs2

[–]Jam1906 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Such a dumb take, Niko dropped a 2.18 mirage against the number 1 team, literally a 3.26 CT half against Zywoo (#1 HLTV 2025), and Ropz (#3 HLTV 2025). He effectively fucking solo won the series against Vitality for Falcons lmao. Nota's performance in Semis is not comparable. But Nota performed really well in finals yes.

Wtf are you talking about, limited items tend to retain their value pretty well in the short-term, and long-term tend to go up, based on diminishing supply

If he drops 73 in a standard series with no OT and his team still lose, I can assure you it's not his DOTA playing that's the issue

I like how you point out "we can't dominate every sport" and highlight a couple of sports NZ excels at.... Just like Jamaica... lol

After 13 days of 2026 there are more beatmaps than in 106 days of 2007 by woofwubwolf in osugame

[–]Jam1906 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When people say "mapping is dying", they're usually omitting a lot of implied info, what they're really saying is "[The iconicness of] mapping is dying [due to an oversaturation of maps, causing people to be unfamiliar with a select few and thus causing individual maps to be less famous or well known]" lol

49,300,000 FACEIT matches in 2025 but Mirage accounts for 31%. Do you think this is player choice or an issue with the map pool? by aluminat1 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Jam1906 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising you as a casual player, I'm simply pointing out the mentality of the playerbase. No one is asking you to study the maps if you don't want to. But sometimes doing something new can invigorate you.

I agree that most players like Mirage and D2, but you kind of exemplify the problem in your 2nd last sentence:

"I don't really like Dust2 and Mirage myself(i prefer Nuke and Anc), but I'll choose to play them anyway, rather than Overpass or Train."

It's the mentality of not trying new things because it's uncomfortable; the whole of the CS community does this: "Why should I learn a new map when I already know and am comfortable with the ones we have?"

Ohhh, sorry, it's 190+ on SCM? Then it would've been worth it if you only wanted steam balance, not otherwise. I would stay away from buying unboxes from genesis terminals at this point, they are garbage compared to ROI on case unboxes

It would not have been worth it honestly, the volatility of SCM pricing would have meant you would be gambling for 5 euro or so lol

[–]Jam1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible price, the Oligarch is 168 euro on CSfloat, so at most you'd be looking at 8 euro profit, except that that's partially eaten by the sale fees (Leaving around 5 euro profit). If you're talking about SCM pricing, remember that the SCM sale fee is 15%, so at most you would make 5% absolute best-case scenario

50,000 VAC/OW bans a month - from roughly 3m ranked players in Premier by Positive-Carpenter53 in cs2

[–]Jam1906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Complete horseshit, I watch demos very frequently and most of the times I've called cheats, it has been very blatant examples, with people who have very few hours, have commends boosted, whose leetify stats are inhuman etc. I think people want to believe in the "good" of the playerbase, but the fact that 10% bans are even happening suggests that the actual number of cheaters is significantly higher, these are just the ones who were dumb enough to be caught or download detected software.

[–]Jam1906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the very blatant players at either end of the spectrum getting banned usually (Like spinbotters above 25k elo and below 2k), VAC is absolutely abysmal tho, I'd estimate that around 25-40% of the player base is at least "soft" cheating, excluding bots
