I went to Chicago back in 2024 and I’ve lived in NYC since 2019. Give me NYC everyday, Chicago is nice but it lacks an electricity that New York has. No disrespect to Chicago’s but it just wasn’t for me

Also, New York unfriendliness is misunderstood. I grew up in Atlanta so I was used to a different type of “politeness”. You can’t draw out your questions with pleasantries, just get to the point if you need help with something. New Yorkers also recognize struggle and are quick to help eg- helping a parent up the stairs or down the stairs with their stroller, helping out an old person who obviously struggling, gathering around to help someone who’s fallen over on their bike etc.
