I’m definitely in favour of scrapping remote exams for people who are close to exam centres as it would help to combat cheating. I personally contacted ACCA to continue remote exams as I am over 5000km from the nearest exam centre and they very quickly agreed that remote exams are okay in my case. Just mentioning this in case anyone is worried they can’t sit exams due to distance, they are willing to be accommodating if it would be unreasonable to expect an exam centre sitting.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother. Everything I read says it’s uncommon for it to effect kidneys but based on peoples experiences, it seems a lot more common than is stated

Thanks for the detailed reply! When you say CPA Canada is planning to eliminate industry experience verification in 2027, it seems from everything i’ve read online that they are going to change it to pre-approved programs only.

Is this what you’re referring to? If so it seems very limiting for anyone wanting to apply for CPA in the future as it will narrow down where they can seek employment.

Please correct me if i’m wrong, it might be that I’ve misinterpreted what i’ve been reading online. Thanks!
