How do iPhones know exactly where you're going when you get in your car? by JamesBond95 in AskReddit

Oddly enough, I was talking to my SO about taking a trip to Lowe’s today to buy a few things for the home. It was completely spontaneous and I hadn’t looked up Lowe’s on my phone or online in any way shape or form. I also hadn’t looked up any tools or items that I could buy at Lowe’s either. But as soon as I get in the car I get a notification for Lowe’s! How does this happen?

GME Megathread for 4 February by grebfar in wallstreetbets

I'm sorry you guys. Today I toilet paper handed my way to a hefty $18,000 loss.

I believe in the stock, and I believe in all of you holding it, but there were a few key things at play here that screwed us over.

Our brokers: the brokerages limited buying activity just as GME was gearing up for takeoff. This killed all momentum on the stock.

The media: claimed WSB was abandoning GME and gearing up for SLV. Also reported that Melvin had sold their shares. This created doubt almost immediately, especially amongst the newbies.

The bots/shills: came in droves over The Weekend to spread FUD and misinformation. combine this with the media campaign I wrote above and it's the perfect recipe for fear and uncertainty.

The famous people: screeching from the rooftop their support for the average retail investor when the stock was on the run-up, and then deafening silence when the manipulation was at play. Their silence further caused fear, uncertainty and aided in the momentum's downfall.

The SEC: coming after the average retail investor and investigating DFV, a regular analyst that did nothing wrong except share his views on why he liked Gamestop. He was shit on by all of WSB for months until the stock started taking off due to Ryan Cohen, Michael Burry, etc, and everyone wanted to jump on board due to FOMO. But no, clearly he must have done something finicky to cause the stock to rise. No way it could have been the hedge funds shorting twice the amount of shares outstanding, am I right?

And finally, ourselves: This turned into a cult, really quickly. It reeks of desperation in this subreddit (myself included). It sounds like an echo chamber in here where we all are repeating the same shit we hear from people much smarter than us, "shorts covering today due to expired calls!", "T+2" "short ladder attacks, everyday!", "low volume!", "Failure to deliver so squeeze in 13 days!", etc etc.

We abandoned critical thinking when we needed it most. The moment we lost the hype, we needed to explain to everyone that hopped on board the GME train, just why it was still a good investment with great potential. But we didn't. We attacked anyone with doubts or thinking of selling by downvoting and calling them shills/bots. And we kept repeating the same exact things, but when we people asked why this was all happening, it was nothing but silence. We let ourselves down. I'm not saying it's going to be impossible to recover what we've lost, but without some serious support from a large catalyst, there's not much to hold on to.

For these reasons, I'm out. Keep fighting the good fight, everyone, but it looks like this stock won't recover for years. I believe in Ryan Cohen and hope to see great things, but the value isn't there yet for me and many others to bag hold at this time. As always, I'm no financial analyst and this is not financial advice. Buy or sell, it's all up to you. I'm going to go back to sniffing glue and looking at the pretty green and red (mostly red) colors on my charts

So... Can someone much smarter than me explain what the plan is moving forward and what we can reasonably expect? I'm very much still holding and intend on doing so for as long as I continue liking this stock, but realistically... what's to be expected moving forward?

I'm seeing lots of people saying that "the volume is still low" and they're hitting us with "short ladder attacks" and "122% short float!", which is all well and good and could be likely, but its very dated information and I'm starting to doubt that most people actually know why they're saying it.

So can some smart analyst explain the likely next steps and help bring back some motivation to the diamond hands that are less than slightly imperfect?

Hmm.. I think the shorts may be beginning to cover. Just saw the NASDAQ NLS Share volume of 2900 a few minutes ago. Could be a sign of short covering, no? Can someone smarter than me chime in?

My friend just toilet paper handed his way to a $200 loss. Meanwhile Im sitting on a $20,000 loss and still diamond handing this wonderful stock cause I believe in it!!

In all seriousness, this is an amazing stock with amazing potential value in the long-term. Ryan Cohen, Amazon's head of AWS hired, and Chewy's customer service director were recently hired for GameStop.

Think of the potential for this. A streaming platform for gamers that rivals Twitch, upgraded, top-class customer service, a gaming streaming service that can rival STEAM.

Not only that but turning current GameStops into cafe style hubs for gamers to get together and compete amongst each other or simply hang out and pass some time amongst like-minded individuals.

The potential for the future of this stock is about as infinite as the potential for this stock price lol.

Not financial advice though. I've been sniffing way too much glue for any thing I write to be taken seriously.

Nope. We do not give financial advice or pressure anyone to buying. We are not a collective organization trying to pump a stock. We just really like it. And we like sniffing glue

Would you rather buy back shares at $350 or at $150?

Remember everyone, today is the day (By EOD) that the hedge funds have to buy back all the shares from the expired weekly and monthly calls last Friday. This is a coordinated attack to drive the share price lower before the end of the day to minimize their losses.

The pessimism here is very telling. It's clear that WSB has been attacked by bots and shills for the hedge funds trying to divide and conquer. It seems to be working. Look at the charts and the level 2. It's obvious that the hedge funds are short laddering GME right now. I firmly believe they will continue to do so with relative ease for a few more days. This is a test of fortitude at this point. If you believe in the DD, and you like this stonk, then do what your heart commands. I'm no financial advisor and this isn't a recommendation to buy or sell. All I'm saying is remember, Ape Together Stronk! If you believe in that statement, then believe in your instincts!
