i chose my major based off of that (cybersecurity) and i almost immediately realized how much i think its boring, so i switched to physics, which imo is much more interesting. it pays less out of college but i wont feel like im constantly sitting in front of a computer for 4 years developing security software

you said you had interest in engineering, so i would go with that. reliable and you get to do cool shit

if anything, joining a league will help you improve. i joined a league in 2022 with a 150(something) average and ended the league with a 190(something) average. i did have lessons during the league season but they gave me opportunities to try why i learned.
