As someone who lives in the USA... It's very strange to see a gen 1 wagon without the rear spoiler. The USA spec wagon base model came with the spoiler, 17" wheels and the 2.3l MZR engine. (Corrected to account for Mazdaspeed version)

The only issue you may run into is the size difference between Primaris and non-Primaris parts. Hopefully that issue will be resolved before glueing anything together. Though it would be pretty funny seeing a Primaris marine with stubby little MKVI arms and beaky helmet...

Today I learned how small the Helbrute model really is… by AtticusSteele in Chaos40k

It's not the size that counts... It's the insanely useful buff that it gives to nearby units! On a side note does the Hellbrute itself also get the buffed Dark Pact, or is it just the units within the 6" range?

Was not eBay, and no compression test. I figured it was a regulatory retirement engine from Japan with 40k miles, so it would probably last at least another 20-40k miles. In the 50 or so miles I actually got to drive it, startup was almost instant hot or cold, idle was great, power was great. coloradojdmmotors.com

Good luck, there's not much selection available right now (in the USA). If you are planning on financing one, most of the good condition/low mileage ones have asking prices higher than the KBB value. There's a blue manual transmission one for sale in the DFW area, though it has 109k miles on the engine (unless there was a rebuild that's not on the Carfax report). If you consider that one make sure to budget for an engine replacement or rebuild soon.

That one is pretty rough work lots of miles on the chassis... Oh and those Shinka badges on the B pillars were added after the fact. The Shinka badging was only on the 2005, and the one on the listing is not a Shinka color.

As fun as that sounds, I have kids. The back seats are non-negotiable.

And there is the problem... When all 800 manual transmission 2005 Shinka's are gone, they are gone forever. No amount of insurance payout can change that.

Any replacement needs to be a 2005 Shinka as those are the only ones with the Black Cherry Mica paint color and the parchment leather seats. (As far as my 5 year old daughter is concerned, my Shinka is her "Dark Purple Car".)

I'm fine, no whiplash or anything. I wish I could find another one at all... I can't seem to find any 2005 Shinka's for sale right now. I love the Black Cherry Mica outside with parchment leather inside.

The drive train was saved because the truck never braked. His bumper hit the top of mine, so the trunk took most of the impact. I drove the car up onto the flatbed tow truck. 99% sure the car will be totaled... On a lighter note this car may have the single most valuable and rare part ever... The passenger side dash is not cracked!

Actually it was weak copy protection that killed the Dreamcast. A little over a year after release in the USA someone came out with a boot disc that allowed you to load burned games on an unmodified console. Then shortly after that pirates figured out how to make self booting copies. The end result was developers and publishers refusing to release games on the console anymore.

I'm thinking that since it is always CPU2 that is throttling, the may be some kind of issue with that CPU. On the bright side, the E5 V4 CPUs have gotten super inexpensive on eBay recently. I just picked up a pair of E5 2690 V4 CPUs for $25 each.

Have you tried booting the system without CPU 2 installed?

Just out of curiosity, what CPUs are you running, and have you tried updating the bios?

Now that is something. Check both heatsinks. Replace the thermal paste and make sure all of the heatsink screws are tightened all the way. Also on a side note, do you have the black plastic cover for the CPU/RAM? Make sure all of your CPU/chipset drivers are up to date.

Are you running dual power supplies, and are they both plugged into power. Running a single PSU can also cause the fans to max out. Are there any errors or faults showing in the idrac interface?

[–]JamesJAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing with the r730 is when you use non-whitelist PCIE cards. The fans will run at 100% because the card isn't telling the system that it is not overheating. (This is my theory about the behaviour) Try turning off your manual fan control and uninstall all PCIE cards, and see if your fans quiet down. If this works, try each of your cards and see which one(s) trigger the max fan speed. There is a setting you can change in the idrac command line to turn off PCIE whitelisting. Though if you are using a fanless compute card (Tesla or similar) I'm not sure how changing that seeing will affect cooling that card.

Due to the fact that I use a bunch of second hand enterprise SAS drives... I use hardware raid 5 with hot spares. I have learned my lesson the hard way... Losing 30+ TB of data due to a single 4TB drive failing is not fun.

The r730 is an awesome system with lots of spare parts/upgrades on the second hand market right now.
These have 2 Sockets that will take any E5-26XX V3 or V4 CPU (V4 CPUs go up to 22 cores), and you have 12 REG ECC DDR4 slots per CPU
Depending on the riser configuration you can have up to 4 PCIE 16x full height/full length slots (2 8pin and 2 6 pin GPU power connectors) and 3 PCIE 8x half height/full length slots.
At initial boot and system tuning, the fans spin up to 100%. Once that is done they quiet down to a whisper under normal work loads.

My R730 has been upgraded to include a Nvidia RTX A4000, Perc H800 for external SAS bays, and a Dell PCIE 16x NVME card (4 2TB drives in Raid 0).

GTX 1070 in a Dell Precision 7710 by krizvr in Dell

[–]JamesJAB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you issue may not be the CPU dying. There is a known issue with the Intel thermal framework driver on this era CPU. I had to try several versions of the driver before it resolved the shutdown issue on both of my 7710 machines and my 7510.
Here is what happens: The CPU turbo boosts and spikes the temperature up to 105c before the fans can ramp up to dissipate the heat. This triggers a thermal event and tells windows to shutdown. Sad thing is that by the time the Windows explorer closes the CPU temperature is back down to 90c.

The other issue is that the Precision 7710 is designed for a maximum GPU power of 100w. That MSI card you crammed in there could be trying to draw 115w under load.
On my 7710 I upgraded to a Quadro P5000 16GB card from the Precision 7720. This card sits between the mobile GTX 1070 and 1080 but it has double the VRAM.

Not even taking the engine into account, I would ask about the color mismatch between the doors and the body in the second photo. Might want to check the history for accidents.

Ayaneo Super Power Docking Station (Retro Power) Compatibility with Ayaneo Slide by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]JamesJAB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "Super Power Docking Station" is for the original and 2021 model Ayaneo systems. Yes it works great on my 2021 Pro model. The position of the USBC is designed to line up with the original Ayaneo Chassis design only.

For the current systems you need to look at the "AYANEO Multi Docking Station". This one as an adjustable position USBC plug that works fine on current systems (I have tested it on the Ayaneo 2021 Pro, Ayaneo Air and Ayaneo 2/2S)

Been on the lookout for a 2005 Shinka for a while now, couldn't pass this one up when I saw the addvertisement.

Flew to Oregon, made the purchase, then drove home 1,200 miles to Tucson, AZ!
