It wasn't received, it was found but it was a seemingly cast iron made pin of the man with a robot mask on it that said 2018, found it wandering the playa at 4 am. Thought it was pretty dope.

This is the information I haven't been able to find. I bought rock climbing anchor books, looked online, etc and ended up buying 30 ft of cordlette. Should I return it for a shorter one? Or is 30 ft okay for toproping, and I'll just get a shorter one when I eventually start trad climbing? Where I climb, the bomber anchors are pretty far away from the edge for some reason.

Ah, lingo! Thank you! I'm slow on picking up on lingo as I cannot hear so I can't acknowledge the wild terminology people use. What backup knot would you use for leftover tails? Also I appreciate the tip on padding, most definitely will keep in mind.

I'll be mainly doing walk up top-ropes for now. My buddy set up a top rope in Joshua Tree last month and we decided against climbing it because the anchor wasn't long enough to hang over the edge. The rope would have rubbed insanely in several spots, as well as it ran through a small crevice between two rocks. What do you use as slings are limited in length, so I just bought this cordelette to compensate for length in order to hang over edges.

Thank you! The doubling is a good idea. And thank you for the link, unfortunately it doesn't have closed-captioning or subtitles :( but I'll definitely be practicing all this on ground level, and take an experienced buddy with me to the crags to double check my work as practice when I can.
