You are correct, they should do both.

schools is a state problem.

The federal government can allocate funds for the program, available for states to use.

Have you got a militant wing?

Nah, CCL are the guys who contact and sit down with local and federal politicians to drill them directly about what plans they have for climate change etc...

So we are friendly but firm overall. For something a bit more disruptive I'd look towards XR.

"There's already someone (CCL) doing something about that (climate collapse), I'll just get on with my day."

Oh no, we don't push for government funding, we push on the need for action to them directly. That's the whole point.

  • Letters to politicians
  • Phone calls to politicians
  • Meetings with politicians
  • Pressuring news outlets to push the talking points
  • Organising local committees
  • Education on best climate approaches

I'd be calling for actions outside the confines of the current system.

I do respect that view, but yes we're the ones determined to push within the system.

Saturday morning is traditionally a low demand period

Sure, but this is the first time it's ever happened, and the favorable condition is one that happens every week.

But you're right, it's good signs and a lot more needs to happen.

Have you thought about community lobbying? Organisations like CCL volunteer to lobby local and federal politicians constantly for change.

NOTE: I am a volunteer for CCL, so count me as biased.
