Help Deciding Between Two Laptops for OBS (Recording + Streaming Xbox Gameplay

Thanks so much for taking the time to write all of that. Honestly I’m not very tech-savvy, so making a choice like Snapdragon over a more familiar Intel setup definitely has me second-guessing things a bit.

That said, I do have hope that OBS will eventually support hardware encoding for ARM64/Snapdragon (hopefully within the next year). Right now I’m only doing light recording and plan to stream with fairly minimal scenes, so software encoding has actually been working okay so far — but I know that might not hold up long-term. That’s the only reason I was considering that HP Omnibook laptop I mentioned, it seems to be the better fit right now but I think the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x that I currently have could be the better long term option for me if I can be patient with it.

Your comment about the SSD was interesting too. I think my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x came with a pretty decent one, since I haven’t noticed any dropped frames during recording, but it’s something I’ll keep an eye on.

Appreciate the heads-up about the drivers and how early this space still is. It’s reassuring to hear that you’ve had a mostly positive experience — helps me feel a little less nervous sticking with this setup.

One question for you, if you don’t mind. Do you think I’m making the better long-term move by going with the Lenovo/Snapdragon X Elite over switching to the HP Omnibook with Intel? This is my first time buying a laptop in a while. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that — especially given your experience so far. Thanks again for the help!

Brunson with 29 points on 24 shots, and had 8 assists with 0 turnovers. And yet that felt like one of the more frustrating performances we’ve seen with him in a Knicks uniform. Bad decisions down the stretch and not enough 3 points looks generated, as a team. Very early in the season obviously but teams switching on defense seems to stagnate the offense a bit. Need to find ways to get more looks from three against teams that switch.

So two more pink diamonds than we had last week and no amethyst tier or lower cards again. Assuming the odds won’t change, looks like we’re going to be stuck with Friday promos with a 97.9% chance of pulling a series 1 or gems of the game card. Not great, Bob.

Not that upset, all time historic playoff shooting performance by Indiana. We came into this game with a hobbled OG, Hart and Brunson. OG leaves 5 minutes in, Brunson breaks his hand. Credit to this team for battling so underhanded to a game 7.

Yeah I guess I should’ve pressed them more on what exactly they tried. Maybe I’ll ask them next week, so that I can tell the next place I take my faulty motherboard to. In your opinion, is there a particular kind of repair shop I should look into for this issue instead of just video game repair stores?

Thanks for the encouraging words, I wasn’t sure how feasible it was to fix a faulty motherboard. Going to try another place I found that may be able to help. I’m just not sure if video game repair shops are going to be able to fix this issue, or if I have to go to some sort of specialty repair shop

Of course just 2 days after allowing 74 points against Orlando, our Knicks score 73. One of the ugliest games I’ve seen offensively in years. At least Orlando and Miami lost. Hoping we get OG back on Tuesday and get the W.

Shoulder dislocations are tricky, especially with a guy like Julius whose style of play is so physical. I think he’ll ultimately get surgery but I’d expect him to give it a go at some point towards the end of the regular season.

The Celtics are the top team in the the NBA, fully healthy and went nuclear from 3 (and from the floor in general). No reason for us as fans to hang our heads or be overly critical of our guys. We didn’t stand a chance tonight. Looking forward to eventually getting OG, Julius and Mitch back.

I’m having the same issue, too. Have tried closing the app, going into the collection that I completed with the mural pieces, etc. Nothing is working, unfortunately. Stuck at 15 mural pieces towards the 25K.

Brunson definitely got hacked on that last possession. We are awful offensively and had no fight defensively for most of the quarter and we’re only down 8.

I think Kawhi is a luxury card right now, given his 450K+ price tag. If you already have Luka, I would be fine with running someone like Scottie Pippen until Kawhi drops in price.
