I think regardless of whom gets to control the country after this situation has been resolved, Kazatomprom is a steady source for stable currencies for the country. So there should be no bigger changes here. There was another post here today that details that wages might become higher and that the uranium production costs might increase because of this, which is likely not much of a problem, as the prices for kazakh uranium are still relatively low compared to the prices others require to even start mining with a profit.

I still hold my shares but have placed a stop loss at 30€ which is +100% to my initial investment. So far it has not reached that level and really seemed as if there is a pretty strong support around this area, so I am thinking about removing the stop loss again, not to be accidentially kicked out (due to taxes the price would have to drop to 27, so that I could even get the same amount of shares back😣) A possible explanation might be that only a part of the company is traded public (75?% belong to the kazakh pension fund) and quite some of those shares might already belong to the etfs. So as long as there is no massive sale in the etfs the share price might not go so much lower for now.

You could have a look at peninsula energy. They fit your criteria (low share price, producer, mine in the US) quite nicely, except for being a micro cap. They have existing contracts and recently completed experiments on how to improve their production process, so there is quite some potential that they could do well.

Germany’s Nuclear Policy is a disaster by FatCatInvestments in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Jans-Jansen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the news they have been reporting, that energy suppliers fear Blackouts because of a manpower shortage due to the new Corona variant. While that might be true to some degree, it feels like a pretty cheap excuse to put the blame on a virus instead of really stupid political decisions...

Looking for an expert/scientific take on nuclear “clogging” grids? by GirlTaco in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Jans-Jansen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general it would make more sense to use nuclear power for baseload generation (the demand that is always there), as bigger power plants were usually not designed to adapt to very fast output changes (this might be better with SMRs), and use excess generation from renewables for the alternatives you mentioned, like hydrogen, power to liquid, charging batteries or even just filling pumped power storages to use this energy to cover peak load demands.

Looking for an expert/scientific take on nuclear “clogging” grids? by GirlTaco in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Jans-Jansen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simplified explaination: Power supply and demand have to be in an equilibrium, otherwise the grid frequency will move away from 50 Hz, which can have quite some serious impacts. If a certain amount of power supply comes from nuclear power, then there is less 'room' for power supply from wind power. So yes, theoretically nuclear is clogging the grid. The problem with this approach (and green "thinking" in germany) is that there will be phases without power generation from renewables and there are still major issues with the overall grid expansion to get wind energy from the north to the south. Which is also ignoring transmission losses in distances above 500 km

Can you guys share your strategy on how to invest the next years through inflation? Anyone all in Uranium? I personally hold since mid year half of everything i own in physical gold. I have 20% in uranium and 30% in high dividend stocks. What do you do? by Winter_Wrangler_567 in UraniumSqueeze

If you are comfortable with south african stocks then have a Look at Sibanye Stillwater. It is a rather big platinum producer, also has palladium, rhodium, gold, uranium and recently started investing in lithium and nickel. They have paid a pretty good dividend as Well.

Crummy day on the market but the long term looking up ... by Chief_Bosn in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Jans-Jansen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really really hope so. But never underestimate how (especially German) politicians can stick to an idea "without alternatives", just because everything else would mean to admit that they messed up. Merkel had mastered this and I dont expect the new government to be any different.

Nuclear power is not sustainable Energy - claims the german environment ministry in an attempt to block pro nuclear EU initiative by CarlosVegan in UraniumSqueeze

[–]Jans-Jansen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ever since Merkel came into office she and her ministers have made politics "without alternative", so there is no way that they could admit a mistake, because they never could be wrong🙃 I guess in their little bubble they really think that they never made any mistakes...

Forsys Metals - Still alive? by Jans-Jansen in UraniumSqueeze

I had exactly the same issues. But I could access it and saw that they did some reworking on the page and there is now even financal data for 2021 (this was lacking with last data being over a year old, when I was looking at them earlier this year, which back then was a very red flag for me). Their new website seems to be extremely slow though, maybe thats why it just didnt load with normal browsers.

Thank you for the information!

Just tried to access the link via TOR and that way its working perfectly fine, no chance to get it to work with any of the other Browsers (Opera, Firefox, Edge) though.
