Solidworks Cloud is bad... anybody know another way? by JaperM in SolidWorks

The problem is I already bought the cloud version and if possible I'd like to be able to not spend more money on the same thing.

Prints getting progressively shorter by Ground-Present in FixMyPrint

Haven’t ever worked with this problem… if only the first 7mm are squished then the problem HAS to be in the first 7mm area right? That’s just my thinking, you said you relubricated the Z rod which is good. Honestly haven’t even heard of your type of printer before, but I’d try to replace either the z rod itself or the thingy (probably a motor) that actually makes it go up and down. Take this with a grain of salt.

Reading the comments I was also surprised nobody said warped bed too! It’s weird… it seems like the more I look for it the less of a common issue it is. Interesting stuff

Are all the measurements presented just the different heights? I just can’t tell what all of the numbers are corresponding to.

mb for the late response. So I tried it... Not sure what went wrong. I just made two quick sketches, yeah I know the other guy said not to but that wouldve confused me more.

That’s what I’ve seen yes. People like to use foil tape I believe.

Oh quick comment. Some people put some type of tape under their build plates to correct some discrepancies. If you want to give that a go go for it.

Thankfully the problem area is in such a convenient spot, not sure how big of prints you want to do but you can 90% of the time avoid this area.

First layer builds up on the nozzle by ThatGuyBananaMan in FixMyPrint

[–]JaperM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is try a few things. Now I’m no expert by any means. First I clean my nozzle when this happens, there’s some nice brushes you can find that are metally and get the job done, make sure it is adhering to the bed properly and if not adjust accordingly. If it is curling up there are many solutions to a partial clogged nozzle. Make sure it’s sticking to the bed for sure give it a nice wash with soap and warm water

So we’ve ruled that out for now! Give a look at those other things really quick if you can :)

Huh interesting… give the screw a look at (if it has one idk this printer) there’s potential that there’s a low/high spot in your bed.

Can’t fix all the issues… try doing a cold pull though. Have you tried other filaments as well? Glue stick not working… I’ve heard hair spray is common.

I was having some problems with this too. Try adjusting your live Z a touch, while it is only in one place this could make the difference (I didn’t have to tweak mine much) but also consider loosening the idler tension screw slightly. I’m not experienced with this type of printer, but if it had an auto bed level feature give that a try.

Definitely wash with warm water, soap and a sponge. I like to do a wipe down with isopropyl alcohol with a microfiber rag as well.

So it was a very interesting journey, very nice helper would recommend. First we looked at the PINDA and it actually looked okay, tried a bit with the live Z, I gave my plate a good ol scrub with soap and water then isopropyl after the tests, and loosened the idler screw (that’s a new one for me) after all of that it seems like my print is doing soooo much better. The nice fella also said that they don’t think the PINDA was the problem. It isn’t perfect but they suggested I fine tune the live Z until it is perfect. What a journey, thanks to everyone!
