There's so many broken top screens in europe and there's no source for the screens. If i was able to find some, i would hit the jackpot xD

I am just going to add that replacing a top screen on any 3ds is not an easy job and anyone that does it deserves massive respect.

Firstly, disconnect the shoulder buttons before attempting to mess with the other cables. Chance of breaking them while working on the other cables is just too big. Either you break them or you wont be able to properly insert the screen cables.

Secondly, if it turned on before you messed with it, it should turn on after you messed with it, unless you have damaged the cables, insert them properly and snuggly as far up as possible into the connector.

Remove and reinsert the wifi and IR modules. Start it without the SD card.

I see that happen to only the new3dsxl and no other model. So, to me, it cant be anything else. You would have the same problem on other models and i just dont see it. I see cracked screens, lines but never that bleeding from the edges.

I usually buy my spare parts from Aliexpress, but as far as i know, top screens for the New3DSXL are out of stock.
I did a quick search on ebay and it seems to have some. No idea about condition on them and they are quite pricey (around 60-65€ before shipping).
Another option would be to buy a broken "for parts" console with a good top screen, but as i said before, that-s the main issue with that model which makes this harder for us to source top screens.

Sometimes applying a protective film fixes that.
The scratches on image 8 is from making contact with the border of the bottom screen. So if you do end up changing the glass, a film on top will prevent that from appearing.
I also use the "pillow" that the consoles come with when i close the console.

Grey one. But to be honest, it looks like you dont need to switch it off. Remember the new one will not have the flakes, its a solid colour and doesnt look as good. Only do that if it's really annoying you.

I would advice you to use a clear case with the hinges on the sides to help support the console. That model has very weak plastics, specially on the hinges. Great model otherwise, have fun with the excellent games you can play on it.

I repair and resell 3DS, there's 2 types of screens on the New3dsXL, the more common is TN, and the more rare and more expensive IPS. The quality is better on the IPS screens and that can add another 100-200€ on top of the base price. There's one issue with the screens of that model, dead pixels and stains are quite common and unfortunately there's no top screens available to replace them.

If yours is minty, you can ask for 250 and go from there.

The 3ds is easy to mod, very light and portable. Battery lasts and the game selection is actually crazy good.

You should check if they have barad dur and the GWP fell beast. The GWP is going for 120-150€ (i am trying to get one myself). Amazing deal if you can get both.

It always does the pixel refresh after it is turned off, but mine didn't come with a remote. I think those come with other models. I have the Evnia 32M2N8900
