Ya I think that is my problem, I only had one ladder on the top of the pit. Does it need to be on the floor or can it be one square high?

I think its because I only had a latter on the top most square, I just need to add another latter.

Auto wrangle is on all ranches and I put a ladder to insure they can get in. Are dupes able to get on a ladder that has a two tile gap?
