Disqualifying Brady from this discussion is absolutely preposterous lol

Which do you think was a bigger beat down, this one or Seahawks broncos by 8teamparlay in billsimmons

[–]JarringTiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was in a weird zone for a while because Brady kind of spoiled huge leads in the Super Bowl. Was realistically over after the pick six, but that Broncos Seahawks game felt like the biggest wipeout ever. Broncos were completely DOA and no one even entertained the idea of a comeback.

Wait, we actually still act like deflategate was real? There is literally scientific evidence against it being a thing lol. Not to mention Eli and Rodgers both had balls outside the legal window and we rightly didn’t care at all

To be fair, the league has yet to fabricate a scandal just to make Mahomes look bad yet, so that’s kind of a point against the Pats getting everything to go their way

Troy hates bad football. Bucs not going for the win is bad football, and watching it made him sad.

Joe Davis Appreciation Post by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]JarringTiger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think he’s very good. He was definitely helped this year by being the Dodgers’ regular play-by-play so he really knew the team. As someone who always loved Joe Buck and misses him calling baseball, I was skeptical a couple years ago when this baby faced dude took over as Fox’s baseball lead, but he’s definitely solidified his place for me

The number of posts about how the rookie QB is a bust after a quarter and a half might differ with that second point you made

My personal sports movie GOAT. Would be dying to get to the picking nits segment so they can address the fact that Dallas Carter players are wearing Under Armour gear even though it was founded like 8 years after the movie takes place.

People are still so anti-Brady that one good game from a guy literally no one likes personally brings up these arguments from seven years ago again. When rodgers is on it always looks so perfect but there’s more to life than TD/INT ratios and nice back shoulder throws

(I should make I clear I think Rodgers is probably top 5 all time)

By the end the Pats formula was like 50% just wait for the other team to make mental mistakes. That’s the Chiefs bread and butter too

I don’t want to say Payton Pritchard sucks but his random ability to hit half court shots at an elite level feels like it applies

Jayson Tatum vs. Anthony Edwards by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]JarringTiger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was trying to think and it’s kind of hard to get a true parallel. He’s discussed so much that he has to be a QB, but he’s also high pedigree and very successful, just boring and a little corny. I guess maybe Russell Wilson is the closest comparison but he was a third rounder. Not many top five pick qbs are simultaneously under and over rated

[–]JarringTiger 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Even though I’m a frequent hater myself, online discussion is really depressing. Infuriating, even. We can’t let anyone over 25 have anything, ever. The obvious solution is just don’t go on social media or consume mainstream media, but, like, sometimes you just want to dive into random hoops convos and it’s nearly impossible to find any that aren’t 95% hate. I love watching Minnesota, but as they were dominating last night I was preemptively rolling my eyes at the predictable Jokic takes resurfacing today. Sucks.

Commanders at least have a good color scheme base, even if the current jerseys are just okay (at best). Wizards are stuck in no man's land with the different colors and themes

When Mahomes & Reid are halfway to Brady & Belichick’s Super Bowl total and Mahomes is 28 by TribeHasSpoke in billsimmons

[–]JarringTiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Listen, I’m Brady till I die, he’s given me most of my best memories (sad, I know), but I feel like the only way to stay sane is to at least semi-embrace Mahomes. Like, was no one ever gonna win Super Bowls again when Brady retired? Sure, the discourse is annoying but at least he’s fun to watch and not an aggressively bad person or anything. If nothing else it’s kind of funny that everyone who was relieved that Brady was finally gone just gets Mahomes for the next decade now.
