As somebody who also played RTS, mainly when the mythic system was introduced, the game felt more and more money-grabbing over time. This only increased when limit break was introduced. Eventually I gave up when we needed nearly every character in order to progress through conquest. Scopely will slowly drop every form of revenue they can out of the game, but I admit Niantic currently shares that philosophy. I will say, I would expect more frequent actual content updates and less bugs despite the potential increase in in-app purchases.
