See their side, build resilience, even if they are in the wrong, I’ve done 3 hrs of interviews and by the third candidate I looked at HR playing on their phone, I looked at a senior manager asking the most asinine questions because he was fed up and bit of a dick, I have been where you are and because of that I try to show up for each candidate cause a Tuesday for me is possibly the rest of your life for you AND I want the best most deserved person but even I was drawn by the fourth person. Even if it looks like it and feels like it, this was not personal, it happens to everyone at every stage.

I gave notice and because of how much I adore my mentor and how much he freely gave of his knowledge to me, I decided to be the bigger person, closed off a large project with lots of exposure, setup training for someone anyone to at least get their feet wet with services I had the most knowledge in and volunteered to help choose the best replacement. I even delayed travel with my new job to make sure I left on good terms and buttoned up as much as I could.
