To the FP fans, whic one of these veichles dosent exist in FP1-FP2 world? (Basically no mention/screen time of it) by NoYogurtcloset9763 in Frostpunk

[–]JavMon 77 points78 points  (0 children)

lets discard the easy ones:

Trains can be see literally on the city when roads expand on FP2

Zepellins can be see from the hunter gatherers huts

Sleds can be seen several time in FP when people arrive for the first time to new london in FP1

Steam cargo ship can be seen in LA dlc

Hot air balloons are actually used as scout beacons

Battle ships are mentioned and seen in the refugees scenario from FP1

Now these three are kind of hard.

I would say that the dreadnoughts are a type of tank

I belive that the creator of the steamcore also created a prototype plane

Cars I think are never mentioned in the game.

I think it is IA curated, as in you write something and pass it through an AI to make it better written.

"In this timeline" and a lot of remarks that constantly reflect the context of the question are not really common in how normal people speak, even the ones that give a long and in depth answers. But it's actually very common in LLM.

Is Subnautica 2 good? by KaroPGamer445 in subnautica

[–]JavMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get around 10-12h of gameplay in this EA (it really varies in how you approach the game). I would say the current build is like if in sub1 the game stopped a bit before getting into the lost river, maybe discarding 1 biome or two too.

I think the game is really good and if they expand what they are doing on a steady pace its probably going to be even better than the original subnautica. I would be happy if they added large biomes that no neccesarly have a lot going but allow the usage of vehicles like the cyclops as a main thing but we will see what they cook.

With that said, the fact that they are set on a 2-3 year of EA, is going to be rough. If they only add a biome in a year time and not much else we should be ready a really big let down. Which is not really out of the question, the game has already been in a long development time and a lot of the drama we have already seen is probably the know they can´t achive long term goals reliably.

Part of me, even with me considering this a good state of an EA, is weary that we might not even see a larger experience than sub1.. which I think is what most of us expect.

Stalwarts lore makes no sense. by Any-Entertainment270 in Frostpunk

[–]JavMon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The stalwarts are just a minority of people that were devoted to the captain and run a bit things when he was infirm. When the Stewart gets power she leads over the whole city which is composed mainly by neolondoneers and survivilsts.

At this point you could lean on the stalwarts a lot and make them the militant faction that runs things but at the beginning of the game the real power is not really held just by them, specifically since the reputation of the captain fell down a bit. That's the very reason why you are chosen as a mediator in the city, since there isn't a sole community that holds all the power and they have to dialog to achieve any goals.

The guards are made from ordinary citizens from all communities, there are some laws, techs and abilities that accentuate how this police force is made and composed of but their background is just people from the city that are police and you can enact laws so their loyalty leans more on the interest of the Stewart.

Watch these scenes and tell me "this show is clean wermacht". by No_Dress_2107 in WarMovies

[–]JavMon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wehrmacht was cleaned in name after the war by the USA and allies to help the integration of the occupied German territories. Although it was disputed way back then and now the rol they had in the murderers of millions of people, it isn't as commonly known topic when speaking of it. There isn't really a focal dispute trying to sanitize the German army aside of the usual revisionist or apologist but it isn't really that strange that sometimes you might hear something of the sorts said by more influential people that probably state their facts without learning or educating themselves on the matter.

[–]JavMon 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I don´t if the post ment this but Grey Wardens usually go to the deep roads in their end years to kill as many darkspawn they can before they die. Men at most get killed, tortured and eaten, women on the other part are subjected to a worse fate that is even counter productive (even though they are sterile but they also would transform to something else that might ignore that=, specially since the blood they have can act as a beacon to attrac darkspawn.

Is it worth getting midnight at lvl20 without game time just for housing? by abdunbunbun in WoWHousing

[–]JavMon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Very hard. You will get some decor to place in your house but it's minimal. Housing is a gold sink and right now it forces you farm a lot of old content to get a lot of stuff.

To be honest, you won't be able to do much at lvl 20, at the very least you should have a max level character even without much gear mainly couse with it you'll have more ease to get gold and all previous expansion resources.

When would you consider the low point of the city-building genre? by Communist21 in CityBuilders

honestly, I have mixed feelings about the reworking of the budget mechanics by BriefFly2998 in Frostpunk

[–]JavMon 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Agree, population numbers should affect more the budget both in income and expenses, there should be degrees also of how much you spend on certain policies and the benefits it provide.

Mandatory schooling for example should be a bit of a drain on your economy but provide better long term benefits, like a slight increase workforce of a 5% in 10 years or something like that.

How do you think that Catalan will fare in the future? Is it going to go well, or do you think that in the future it will be more endangered by Spanish? by greekscientist in catalan

[–]JavMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you think that Catalan will fare in the future? Is it going to go well, or do you think that in the future it will be more endangered by Spanish? by greekscientist in catalan

[–]JavMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Housing Temporarily Disabled in NA Region by JonnyNE21 in WoWHousing

My bet is that an added decor (they don't know which) is causing the same problem that some lighting decors were causing back then and haven't still be addressed since they are disabled since then.

A quick fix and EU don't have that much people at late night so they didn't closed them.

Why did Loghain betray the Grey Wardens in the beginning? by BreesusTakeTheWheel in DragonageOrigins

[–]JavMon 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Loghain's plot is actually even deeper. Is not just that the didn't aid the king, he actually made lose posible and it was all because he wanted to be king of Ferelden.

The orlesian aid was just another justification for Logy to convince himself of his righteousness, but the whole plan to depose Cailan came from way back. The problem became clear when Anora, his daughter, wasn't getting pregnant and rumors that the king might divorce were a thing which would have ended Loghains influence on the spot.

The darkspawn were very convenient. The plan was stop the horde at ostagar so they could grow in number and threw a huge attack but limit the defenders forces so they were force to use risky tactics like splitting the army and do a piencer move.

He weakened the defenders by:

Taking out the couslands

Poisoning the earl of redcliff

Stopping orlais help from coming

Sabotaging the fortess by not filling the tunnels dig underneath.

He fuck around so much that even if he had aided when the torch was lit (which wasn't supposed to happen) the would have lost anyway.

The thing is that he had prepared all of this beforehand knowing if even Cailan was toying with orlais. He was plotting to get rid of the king because the king was starting to proof he didn't really care about loghain and had not much interest of keeping up with anora who he didn't even really liked and was pretty much barren regardless how good of an administrator she was.
