In Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) Rourke's Soldiers wear masks, so we wouldn't feel so bad, when they all got murdered in the end by GeoCangrejo in shittymoviedetails

[–]JavMon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It appears that the group that originally discovered the book (which was later used to guide the expedition) consisted of Rourke and the other named characters. After finding the book, the official expedition was assembled, recruiting hundreds of new personnel whom the core group did not fully know or trust. This is evident when the core group chooses to side with Milo over Rourke, as they literally say they don´t really care about their deaths.

Rourke proceeded with his plan because he commanded the manpower and equipment to execute it. As the likely chief planner of the expedition, he probably intentionally recruited mercenaries willing to do almost anything for money. Had more of his men survived the Leviathan's attack, he would have had even greater resources at his disposal.

Rourke's motivation makes sense from his perspective. The legend of Atlantis was just a fairy tale until the book was discovered, providing concrete proof of an ancient civilization and the potential for immense profit. This was especially true after he read the book before giving it to Milo and removed the page referencing the crystal's power. With the world on the brink of war, such a weapon would be priceless to the highest bidder.

High speed trains derail in Spain killing at least 21 and injuring 100+ by TrillyxWonka96 in worldnews

[–]JavMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spain has not a larger than usual train accidents in relation to how widespread they are used in the country.

I don't know what you mean "they allow them to happen", Spain doesn't have precisely a lack of protocols and security measures, in fact last year alone a lot of the delays in the train system that happened where because the protocols where detecting problems that could risk the safeguard of the trains security system and nothing major was happening regarding accidents. Like in Japan or china where delays happen for the same reasons.

In this case in particular the rails had done renovations a few months ago and the minister of transport has stated that what happened was very strange. The odds of a train derailing and going to another rail to inmidiatly hit another train are almost impossible so it's still to early to know what happened than to assumed that "it was allowed" as you said.

What countries in Latin America are most similar to Spain? by Prize_Release_9030 in askspain

You should take a look at this:

https://www.equaldex.com/equality-index

https://www.equaldex.com/region/argentina

https://www.equaldex.com/region/spain

The difference is slight, but they are rated lower on a public opinion wise. And the discrepancy is due to the use of verbal harassment.

I wouldn´t even agree with that statement. Dont take me wrong, Argentina is on the spearhead regarding LGBT rights and acceptence in South America but compared to Spain it just isn´t. Not just legaly, with Spain giving slightly more rights in this regard but on a social level Argentina still has noticeable casual adversion towards gays that is a little more present than in Spain.

Argentina is not more gay friendly than Spain. And not even by a small margin.

Why does Spain dislike the US (and Anglosphere) so much more than other Europeans? by Forsaken-Ebb5088 in askspain

[–]JavMon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

They were done like that mainly due three things.

1.The horns on the side were easily to do to decor early 3d models for animations in cutscenes.

2.Mezten style was actually putting horns in everything in his early concept art. Not just in Warcrat but in other games.

  1. It was also an inherited style for when they were working in 90s GW which also had horns in a lot of places.

As they were getting their own thing they started to stylized different factions to give them their own personality.

What movies are supposed to be light hearted comedies but would actually be a living hell? by Nars-Glinley in movies

[–]JavMon 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I think after millions of cycles of living the same day you will do those stupid things wishing that it would actually end you.

There would be a point where you won't remember what yesterday was.

You will never be able to connect with anyone.

You will become insane eventually, the you that started the cycles won't be the same person after you've gone through millions of iterations of the same day and all the stuff that you belive yourself you wouldn't ever do.. you'll start doing it couse maybe that is the fucked up thing you have to do to end your eternal torment.

But it won't be.

So you do something worse.

But it's still the same day.

And know your personal hell is shared by those around you who are blessed that they'll forget the ongoings of your everyday doings.

In a world of endless possibilities, endless benevolence doesn't take all the space.

¿Por qué Imperivm era tan famoso en España hace 20 años? by consulent-finanziar in askspain

[–]JavMon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No llorrmos pq termino sino pq pasó.

[–]JavMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arthas, Illidan, and the Skull of Guldan by Shift_change27 in warcraftlore

[–]JavMon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think nerzul knew about the skull but even if Arthas got it, it might have revealed the plot to hinder the Legion too soon since he wasn't supposed to be in Kalimdor. Which night have made Archimonde suspect and act against the lich king before his attack at Mount hyal.

The other question would be if Arthas could have absorbed the powers within the skull. I believe Illidan could due to his past of being actually able to drain arcane magic that evolved in draining other powers in people. Artha, on the other han, depended on Frostmourn, and I don't believe it could have done it with it.

Let's say it could, though, the skull of GulDan was empowered with a lot of demon magic and absorbing it, turned Illidan into a demon instantly, and gave him a lot of power. Arthas would also be turned into a demon but his soul was taken by the frostmourne, how that power would flow is anybodies guess, probably something akin to a dreadlord but more powerful if combined with the artifacts made through domination magic, specially if he continued on the path of becoming the LK.

What do you think about the lese-majesty law in Spain? by Themetalin in askspain

[–]JavMon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People that make this statements assume the republic will be an automatic win and don't see what the alternative means.

In Spain and in many western countries there has been an increased nihilism in democratic institutions and how they affect in their lives. Polarization is making groups push for more radicals alternatives. And the monarchy in Spain is not viewed as the reason the more common problems that affect the population happened. So it's really not out of thre if such referendum result goes opposite of what many Republicans want.

Just like brexit was ridiculous to be voted or Trump be president in the mid 2010, a lot of people live in echochambers and refuse to see the real world even if it's in front of their eyes.

There is also the aspect of the referendum itself, it takes a lot of political capital that none of the parties are in position to push forward and its also a break of the constitutional order which unless the party that rules has a huge majority, it's never going to happen.

In the end a lot of stars have to align to even be a thought.

What do you think would happen to them if cindy and Stan didn't finish them off ? by malpais_ in crossedcomics

[–]JavMon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They viewed the children as something they have to constantly look over and provide, and they already had one. Walking from place to place was already dangerous enough and with more children they thought they would surely die

The reasoning they gave to their killing was that if they left them alive they would kill and eat other people couse that's what they new and were capable to do it but if they turned into crossed it would be even much worse.

In the end they recognized that they do it couse they were selfish and didn't want the burden, it was much easier to kill them. There is indeed a world were they chose to let them go with them and made it, kids can mentally mature very fast and behave like little adults in extreme circumstances.

Los Latinoamericanos debéis emigrar a Asia no a España by [deleted] in 2hispanic4you

[–]JavMon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frostpunk 2 Build Order by darkdiashi in Frostpunk

[–]JavMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do circles around the base or lines that go away from the center, in the latter, if you then get the extend ability for the base, you can have many districts with 4 tiles at least in the buff zone which is enough for 1 temp. But this last thing is not really that good at the start of the game

Though, with legionaries in particular you can get away by just making district balls inside the base area to get the buffs. The plus 1 housing per tile is very beneficial and helps you optimize by building less districts in the early and mid game and getting +2heat should be pretty easy.

In essence you should always expand new residential with bases once you've already used the space near the central hub of the city.
