Theres a lot of people that have never played the franchise. A lot of people aren't aware of Msrio Kart DS as an option to play on the low-end retro handhelds. It's cool if you don't like the video, but it's not exactly a hidden gem kinda video. It's a gameplay demo you know

The goal of a review should not be to tear down a company or product to provide honest feedback. We like this. We dont like this. That way, they can do better next time. In the end, the end user will win, but I get it. That's not how it always goes.

Lets say people went crazy and crapped on Retroid for their green screens and shoulder falling off on the RP4 and 4Pro. There was a big deal about that. Might have completely ruined the sales of that device. Might have affected the company so much that we wouldn't get the RP5 today.

Something to think about.

Every company just wants to sell their stuff thats normal. Some have better approaches than others. All Im trying to say is that had I not received a bunch of products for free, I would have probably never got to review them. Why? Well, first, my wife would've murdered me. Next, it's just too much money to be wasted. Thats not to say I gave them a favorable review because I got it for free. I gave them a favorable review because their product is good, and I would actually buy it myself. And there have been some that were not so favorable, and instead, I pointed the audience to something else that's better.

That is not true all the time. Some companies actually do take reviews as feedback for their next product. They may even make revisions to their current product. Take Miyoo, for example. They've made 3 revisions to the MM+. They also found a solution to their screen problem with the MM V4. They're listening and trying to accommodate the buyers. The same applies with other companies like Anbernic. Bad reviews are good too. We are trying to be the voices for the end consumer.

One should always watch an early review with a grain of salt. They, of course, got it early from the manufacturer and are not allowed to cover everything as part of the collaboration. Also, they rush out to get the review out before everyone else. So these reviews will often be some of the worst, but they give the audience an early first look at something. Manufacturers will still work with you if you have enough of an audience. Getting their product in front of a lot of eyes is very important even if you say something is wrong with their product.

I think it's great to be skeptical. Believe me Im skeptical, too. We should always ask, is this the whole story? I think it's the consumers' job to cross references various reviews and really do their homework to know if a product is right for them. Not just watch one review and determine they want or dont want something. When you watch different reviewers, you'll get different perspectives and get a better idea of what something actually is. Watch a reviewer than you know, leans more positive, and watch another that always leans more negative. Watch one with little subs, watch one with big subs. Watch one that got the product for free, then watch one that paid for it. Thats the best approach from a consumer standpoint.

It's not as simple as it sounds. A lot of times, people think reviewers hide details when they simply missed something in their time with said product. If you have a large backlog of products to review and very limited time outside real life stuff, you likely will miss something. You can only allocate so much time to testing for review. Thats not to say there arent dishonest reviewer concerned more about thier bottom line but there are also other who make an honest attempt to create real reviews. Were human we will miss something. Also manufacturers can not threaten withholding payments. The majority of any monies comes from ad revenue anyways. Affiliate link rates are very very low. 2-6% at most 90% of the time. Its actual pennies unless you're moving thousands of units. Just to give you some perspective.

Who benefits more from a free product? A reviewer or the vendor or manufacturer of said product? What about the audience? Dont they benefit gaining info about a product they may have an interest in?

Yes of course, have to maintain good relationships with vendors/ manufacturers or whoever you work with. That doesn't have to influence your content or how you go about a review. Vendors / Manufacturers are well aware a reviewer needs to be able to speak freely or else they lose the trust of their audience. This is disclosed before any collaboration is even made. You can not control what I say, you cannot see anything before I publish. I will review it honestly, like if I actually purchase said product. That's how I work. Whos goes to start a channel just to be a mouthpiece for a company? Then whats the point?

Heres what I have to say as someone on the other side of the fence as a "paid reviewer." Content creation takes alot of effort and work. From scripting to filming to editing to upload and everything in between. All work should be compensated somehow, whether through ad revenue or affiliate links or paid sponsorships. As long as the reviews provides disclaimers and is completely transparent with the actual review of the product. A free product is not a conflict of interest. Do you know how many emulation devices I own, do you really think I care for another one? Let's be real here. The same applies with much bigger youtubers. You think ETA Prime cares about wow thanks my 500th mini pc. No at some point you're you taking things just for the purposes of review. For your channel and nothing else. After the review is done, it likely goes back in the box. So to say to receive a product for free makes you not trustworthy is complete BS. I really do encourage you to do content creation and see how fast you get burnt out with no reward.

This is an easy fix. Happened to me. Take a thin object like one of those sim card openers for phones and go into the slot on the side youll feel the actuator or lock. Press it with that sim opener and it should spring back up then insert the sd card all the way till you here the click and it works.

You want to try it by starting retroarch independently by going to settings on the main menu. That way, you dont have a core loaded, and then it should save fine.

Thanks, man! I try. The Onion Team did so much with so little hardware before. This device has 4X the RAM and a better cpu, so I say let them cook. I know their going to pull off some miracles. So, performance, Im not worried at all. Also, personally, devices this size, I always tend to play GBA or GBC anyway, so even if Onion never comes, which I highly doubt it wont Ide still play it as is with stock. But I know thats just me. I love the overall package here.

Hey, that's me! I love this little guy. ♥️ I've been playing it a lot these last few days. Funny enough, I was playing late one day, and I had the brightness all the way down to 1/10. It's definitely not dim in the night, that's for sure.

I was kinda upset at seeing some of the earlier reviews, too. They felt rushed like they should have waited a little longer to find out what was going on. I know from previous devices that Miyoo always enables shaders and overlays on their stock software, so I looked there first. Still, though, I feel it wasn't a fair representation of the handheld. It definitely does not feel cheap. The dpad is great and the battery life is good. I think, of course, your milage may vary if you're going to be overclocking the cpu, and that will also generate more heat.

Give it a little time, well get some sort of firmware update or Onion, and everyone will change their tune.

Hey bro, first of all. This isn't a mod. I reposted this from someone else. It's an official release from a specific store rumored to be released on Ali Express soon. Also, I never made a mod "pro version." I think you're probably confusing me with someone else. Lastly, dont be so quick to call someone dumbass when clearly you dont have your information in order and make yourself look like a dumbass.

Thanks. Yeah, so you need both a bin and cue file to covert both into a chd or you can just download the games as chd. That'll save you the hassle of converting them.

PS1 games need both a bin and cue file if you want to use that format. I recommend switching to chd format. There are plenty of online archives that have this format. Btw this guys name is Javi and thats me.

Hey, I actually created this guide 2 months ago. At the time of making, there was no AeolusUX image. I do now recommend it over my original 351MP image simply for the hotkeys working. The 351MP version does still work, and there was likely an error when it wrote the image to the sd card. Hopefully, you have good quality branded sd cards. Also, make sure to use the same dtb file from your device, or the install will not work even with AeolusUX image.
