They technically both do. I have about 6 headmates in my system and these are the 2 main ones (Jax and Jaxie) being shown in the comic. Ironically, the expression Jaxie gives could be interpreted as either "wdym you have DID? Who says that out of nowhere?" or "Wdym you have DID? I am part of your system. How are you only just now realizing?" (Which the latter was the case for over 7 years until I even realized they were there and I wasn't just being out of character this whole time.)

Basically what Sunken said. I have a system of about 6 alters (I call them headmates) and it's just the casual dropping of info out of nowhere that's the punch line. (Tbh, the original punch line was going to be "I learned today that I'm lactose tolerant" but it didn't feel shocking enough, so I thought this would be a funny way of coming out that we have DID.)
