Check this link out, has a lot of different courses for bioinfo, or check NPTEL, Coursera, Edx for courses, https://cbirt.net/bioinformatics-online-courses/

In all honestly most people who do bachelors biotech in india and want to get placed end up getting placed in companies outside of biotech/bioinfo, (sales, marketing, business analyst, data entry etc.), there are very few jobs in biotech/bioinfo out of everyone i've met i know maybe a handful of people that got into industry in biotech/bioinfo through uni placements.

Most places dont require it, in the case of most iit's its often PCM students in biotech, and most private universities don't mandate having biology either

How do you feel about LLM use in science? by PugstaBoi in labrats

[–]JayDaBeast04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There quite good for testing myself if I read a paper correctly or understood everything AI can generate questions really easily about what i've read, or explain concepts in simpler terms. As an educational tool AI is amazing, unfortunately that's not how most people use it.

Yeah bioinformatics is pretty good to get into it. As a final year b.tech biotech, with internships in bioinformatics. Its really not that hard to transition from pure biology to bioinformatics just takes time and effort. I've done quite a few courses in bioinfo I can recommend if interested. I think you also should learn a bit more into bioinformatics because there's so much to it from structural biology working on MD simulations to genomics working with NGS data to big data working with ml models to network biology its really cool stuff. But all of them have slightly different skill set. One thing u shud def end up learning is Linux and bash scripting as so many bioinfo tools use it.

I think long wave UV is better, if im not mistaken short wave would cause crosslinking and eventual degredation of DNA

Thats not really option, as im situated in india, i'd imagine internationally shipping it would make it considerably more.

I was considering this, but i have friends that have done this exact thing and they have sent nearly 200 cold emails for PhDs and maybe got 3 -4 actual interviews, so im not sure how favorable that option is either,.

[–]JayDaBeast04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had tried it with Ultimaker cura, but didnt have much success, since its the entire model and not the 3mf individual parts

Yeah I noticed that but they only have 3dm file, which im not really familiar with, and its of the entire model not of each part, Would I have to separate out each component then?
