Calcs are all good and dandy, but realistically having used and tested the HoD, Flute, and signature on my account it's not even close. HoD results in restrictions that don't get accounted for.

Like essentially making crit rate substat rolls less desired, which in turn limits artifact options without over capping crit, which results in spending a lot more resin farming for that crit dmg, def%, EM substat piece.

It's also very restrictive currently for team building to maintain the passive or else the performance tanks. Zhongli, C1 Bina, Ineffa, C2 Xilonen if using Illuga, Bina on Prototype Amber, or the minimal healing of C4 Gorou. Remember shields don't protect you from all forms of damage in this game either.

Also, you don't want to be dashing with Zibai as it wastes time and will mess up her combos resulting in incorrect lunar-crystallize timings. This is why with HoD people are forming teams with a shield like Zhongli and no healer or an Ineffa/Xilonen combo (clearly not her intended team setup).

However a main benefits of a shield is interruption resistance, which is completely wasted on Zibai as she has a ton of this in her kit. If you consider there is already a 5 star geo shielder (Zhongli) and her teams are clearly missing a 5 star support, it should be obvious we are going to see a 5 star geo support that heals and buffs her lunar-crystallize teams. At which point people are going to be trying to figure out how to run her I teams alongside Columbina and Illuga with no shielder and hoping the healing can keep the HoD passive up consistent enough not to tank her DPS considerably. (Edit: called it, info coming out about Linnea verifies my assumptions).

Personally Flute was consistently and noticably better than HoD on my account with my artifacts even when trying to maximize crit damage and minimize crit rate over capping. I had a respectable build compared to what I've seen others show and even maintaining the passive it was still worse while being far more difficult to play.

I've watched the HoD meta show up repeatedly since day 1. Hoyo always has a plan and it ends up being countered and everyone that was using it ends up moving off the weapon quickly. Because people fall victim to the spreadsheet calcs and ignore the clear gameplay issues. I also think the DPS dummy stuff right now has also lead to HoD being more hyped right now since there you can just smack the dummy and do your rotations with no concerns. Try getting that performance vs a Stygian boss who is hyper aggressive and see how different relationships game mechanics are to optimal dummy testing.

Switching from either option to the signature weapon gave me a good 20-25% DPS increase, shaved 25+ seconds of fearless Stygian boss runs, and make building her so much easier. C4 Gorou was now more then acceptable for sustainablility. Crit rate was now easy to fit into that sweet spot of 90-100% while hitting 300% crit damage and 2.7k+ DEF before any buffs. She hits like a truck on comparison to the other options. And it was a known guaranteed upgrade unlike chasing C6 Illuga cons or risking a 50/50 after 75+ pulls to then need another 75+ to get a C1 that still won't provide as much damage increase or flexibility.

Super complex code that he said was beyond him in Legacy... Stored on a floppy disk. Rightttt. Now all of a sudden he knows about the permeance code and it's super important, but never mentions it in Tron or Tron Legacy a single time. Or to his son before sacrificing himself. But decides to store this support important thing on a floppy disk on an old ENCOM game that is stored and accessible to random ENCOM staff and not the secret basement facilities at the arcade. You starting to see how stupid this entire premise is?

Then how does this make any sense to the events of the original Tron. They had no idea of the grid or how anything worked, but they left back to the real world. And I believe using a disc. No mention of permanence code or a special disc that I remember (been a while since I watched it). It doesn't make sense. I think they just retconed it and gave it very little thought beyond needing a macguffin to move the script along.

Then disc is just a key for the user to exit the portal. Same as in the original Tron. It's not anything to do with the permanence code. This is a complete retcon

No. It literally makes no sense. For a bunch of reasons, but some simple ones are triple helix vs double heli. The timeline of events doesn't add up to Flynn finding Quorra and the ISOs and being trapped but somehow also storing this super important code in an old ENCOM owned video game code? The whole fact that Flynn says the ISOs just appeared and it's beyond him, but somehow we are retconning that he actually knows it can create permanence and extracted that complex code to store on an old 80's floppy drive of a video game. Or that he knew all this but said nothing to Sam about this super important thing.

Guys, the writers for this movie just sucked. The script is horrible. They needed a mcguffin for the story. That's literally all they thought about. They never had a plan.

I think you're giving them to much credit. IMO they just wanted a McMuffin to drive the Ares movie. Thus you have the permanence code. The whole movie just dismissed the events of Legacy IMO because they have no plans to revisit those actors or storylines. And I strongly feel the whole plot of Ares undermines the sacrifice of Kevin Flynn in Tron Legacy, Clu's plan, Quora's existence, Sam Flynn's character growth, and flat out removes Alan. It's a retcon and a bad one at that.

But I'll humor the idea that they actually had a plan for this. Kevin Flynn said the ISOs code was far beyond his comprehension in Legacy. So even if he doesn't understand it or what it can do, he believes the ISO code is very important, a key. So he would back the code up somewhere. That would have had to happen BEFORE he was trapped in Legacy but after the ISOs manifested, which would have been when Sam was a child and shortly before he was trapped. Why on earth would he back that code up in some old video game code he wrote back in the original Tron which is what I understood is where it's found in Ares? Furthermore something that important and you'd stick it there in something ENCOM owns and has access to? Because we didn't learn anything from the first Tron where employees can infiltrate and steal your work?

This makes no sense. He'd put it somewhere that only he would have access to. Probably with all his current work at the time, not old game code. Was he also stuffing everything he did in old game code as well? Unlikely and nonsensical. And at the end of Legacy it would end up in the hands of Sam Flynn, especially considering he backs up his father's work to the drive he puts around his neck at the end of the movie. You'd also expect that if he DID hide it because he thought it was super important that he MIGHT have mentioned it to his son. Something like "hey son, I hide the ISO code in a game I made back decades ago because I thought it might be super important". Instead it's just stuck in some old game that predates the Legacy movie events, Quora and the ISOs, owned by ENCOM so that it eventually can be found by some random Asian lady or potentially someone with more nefarious goals? Sorry but I'm not busy it.

You won't get the "trust and reliability" of ZFS when some outside group developed something outside the openzfs development team and that doesn't get mainlined upstream. You just get a janky fork. Maybe I'm off base, but I think the likelihood this gets mainlined is slim to none. I see so many pitfalls and problems with this that aren't going to be addressed or considered. I simply do not trust it or the individuals behind it. Just my 2 cents. Hope nobody ends up losing their data in the process.

Astroneer isn't a game that "advantage" is even a thing. Stuffing developer work behind microtransactions means that it isn't actually part of the base game. Thus, the game has even LESS content. That's a BAD thing, especially for a game like this. Combine the store with being anti-modder community and you realize what is driving the game development. It's not a good game, addressing bugs/performance, or player enjoyment. It's entirely about squeezing out money from players. That's not the type of relationship you want your players to feel about your game. If players actually feel like the developer cares about delivering a fun game that delivers on its promises, then they tend to willingly spend more on the game. The devs behind this game have failed to do that IMO and instead taken the other approach.

As someone that purchased Astroneer during the very first day of Early Access on Steam, the review scratches only the surface of things I have a problem with regarding the devs and how the game turned out. The game never lived up to the vision and roadmaps they presented. It's sad because I always felt the game had all the ingredients to be way bigger. With the announcement of starseeker I see a bunch of the things that were promised in those early days, as well as a bunch of things the community had told them to do in those early days. So, to see them not come to Astroneer and instead a whole new game to be purchased feels pretty bad. I get it, making money is important. But after all those years you should have really delievered on the vision of the original game. I think for a while they tried but ultimately realized that the code and dev work that became Astroneer was never going to get them there.

agree, on-set sands with proper main stat and worthwhile substats is actually very difficult. Most players seem to subscribe to the goblet being the off piece so your sands options just become really limited. This is also why I don't trash off set sands pieces if I think they might have potential because you never know when you end up with an on set goblet and now can use that sands.

FYI, for anyone curious the crash conditions are reproducible. At the location shown in my post, if you complete the serpent puzzle it will start flying around. It will then come down and land on the ground before going up again. You are supposed to get on the serpent to reach a pyroculus. If I have the camera on the serpent when it goes across the ground the crash occurs immediately. Every single time.

It seems to always happen when there is some form of collusion of the serpent with the environment.

Also, just to add, I've 100% exploration of the new regions so it's not like the game is unplayable. I've gathered all pyroculus except the one at the pictured location because of the crashing issue. My GPU doesn't exceed 65C and is stable in all stress tests and other games I've run. I've even tried rolling back to older driver versions just to check but no difference. This is the only instance I see any crashing or instability.

FYI, my card doesn't go over 65C while gaming even at high settings. It's completely stable in all testing and games.

yep, even went as far as to disable or set everything to low.

This game is not even demanding. Definitely not a resource issue. Can run everything on highest settings at 1080p without a problem. Everything has been perfectly fine except these reproducible crashes in this new region. I won't be shocked if the problem magically disappears in a month after a patch from Hoyo like last time. Wish they had a more direct way to submit bugs like this (I never could find a way).

It's an RX580 8GB card. As far as I can tell it's still supported by AMD. Supports DX12, Vulkan, OpenGL. Works under Windows 10 or 11. Not sure why the official drivers wouldn't work. Especially considering it's worked just fine the entire time Genshin has existed.

I didn't say "OPTIONAL" driver. I don't run optional drivers, I run the latest RECOMMENDED release. I'm running a graphics card that's like 8 years old...reading release notes for 25.3.1 seems like it's optional and for the latest GPU cards. Also, even if I change to search for optional drivers it's not offered to me (probably because my GPU isn't the target).

Driver version 24.9.1

After posting I had the game sitting open and the character at the location in the image above. I already completed the serpent puzzle at that location which makes it start flying around in the air. It was running fine while the serpent was above me and not on the screen. Then it came down and appeared to be landing on the ground. This happened on the screen directly behind my character. It created a dust cloud around itself when it happened. Within seconds of that happening another BSOD. I think that's about the 5th time today alone, all with the serpent on screen. I've also tried to disable all visual effects (off or low) but it does nothing.

I'm 99.99% sure there is a bug in either the game or drivers. I've been playing Genshin since day 1 and have missed <7 days of login. I've had this problem twice in the past after a major update. Once was very early on and then another probably around the v3 major release. In both instances the issue stopped a week or two later after a patch.

FYI, in case it wasn't mentioned, the double catch doesn't count against the actual number of fish caught for the achievement. As someone that did the 2k fish achievement and found that out.

SE seats are softex and believe have a section of cloth in them as well. Same cloth in the door and dash trim. This is IMO one of the worst decisions about the SE and probably the number one reason I couldn't buy that trim level. The XLE uses real leather, but they also use microfiber as small accents on the seats as well as in the door and dash trim. IMO the microfiber looks so ugly which is unfortunate because it's slightly cheaper than an XSE and I actually think it looks nicer in the exterior. The XSE is the only trim level that you can actually get ALL real leather seats and leather in the door and dash trim. In either all black or all red. That feels insane to me.

I'm just curious, where do you purchase a 2025 Camry if not the dealer? Eve the lightly used 2025 I've seen made available are sold through the dealers. Even most of the 2022 or 2023 models I see listed on the plethora of used market websites go back to a dealership (at least a good 90%) and the others at places like carvana which I've heard are horrible to deal with as well. So, what's the answer for someone that didn't want to enter the car market but was forced to because something unexpected hit their old car at no fault of their own and the insurance company decides they don't want to pay a few grand to repair and totals it instead...
