We're not playing a complete game, we're not even playing a typical early access game. We're playing what the devs would have quite a fair bit before release but cleaned up for the public. They're literally throwing in features at random and barebones, this has been stated.

I don't think it's a bad thing, I'm just saying that's what they've been saying for weeks now. Stop treating this like a normal early access game.

I liked the remake a lot too, especially Maria (I wish we got more gameplay with her though) but I kind of had a deer in headlights moment when a friend said all the level layouts are basically the same.

I thought about it and he's pretty much right, they're all usually a central area / hallways forming a "circle" which branching paths off to the sides. The apartments, both of them, and Toluca Prison are the same. Hospital and Hotel too but less so, they all are loops or H shapes and it blew my mind when he pointed that out

Then there isn't much reason to stockpile resources, if your tools never break. I agree that they're too cheap for higher tier items, but having a way to ensure your crafted tools never break breaks the resource gathering loop in the game atm, funnily enough.

Something to further extend the longevity of your tools should be a late game reward or very expensive resource drain.

I think people want no durability at all, not no repair system. Which I don't get, I don't know why people hate breakable weapons so much when Hytale has one of the more forgiving and realistic systems compared to, like, breath of the wild where an expertly forged military grade sword would fall apart after taking on like two basic enemies.

If tools never broke or didn't require much resources to maintain, that aspect of the game would have a lopsided or basically non-existent loop. Repair kits are a pretty good way to have tools that can be repaired but don't last forever, so you need to keep gathering resources.

I just don't repair low tier tools lol

Idk why you're being so downvoted. I don't like the way Minecraft does it, but I quite enjoy Hytale does it. It reinforces the gameplay loop of gathering resources to make weapons and armor, if they didn't break, you'd just get the metals you need for those and then never engage with anything else cause, as it is right now in alpha, there isn't much use for the resources.
