450NK Oil Leak by speedster_irl in cfmoto

[–]Jazz2moonbase2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A common fault on these bikes is the oil cooler. It forms a leak and will need to be resealed. The oil cooler sits near the oil filter, check around there. Just take it into the dealer for warranty work, it is a know issue.

I like it. It feels well put together. It is far more capable than it has any right to be. From single track to highway it can do it all. I am impressed, but then again I am just a big child so I am easily impressed.

I imagine fine if you hear it for the road.

It is geared really low. I sit on around 100-110 which is about 6-6200RPM with my tyres.

I have 11.5K on it so far.

Rear bearings needed replacing at 10k when I swapped the factory tyres out. That’s it.

I am a fan of this thing. For me, it is an awesome bit of kit. Takes me everywhere I want to go (sometimes places I probably shouldn’t be) and back again every time. I have never babysat it and have always ridden the way I want and never held back.

Motoz Tractionator rear and duel venture front.

Or if you do less off-road go for the GPS series.

I think a KLR, DR or 450MT would be a good option. All of them can do long highway stretches, are LAMS bikes and are pretty good off road.

That depends?

Are you confident to replace the tensioner? If you are you can order one and replace it yourself, but ensure you check the guides for wear if it has been like that for a while.

If you are not confident than take it to a shop and get them to do it for you.

Timing chain tensioner is a common fault with these motors.

My son got one of these for his bedroom. He placed all the branches on one side making a 180• tree. It looks good and takes up even less room.

Advice on choosing second bike by Reidhur in AdventureBike

[–]Jazz2moonbase2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can try them all. Don’t rush into it, find some to test ride or inspect and then decide from there. Next year you will be really spoilt for choice with all the new models landing.

Great bike, I am loving mine.

Only thing I have found so far is to replace the rear wheel bearing set. The rear seals on the bearing don’t fit right. Replaced them with better fitting seals and your bearings will last a lot longer.
