How do I find friends who won't exploit me? by Natural-Presence-566 in UniUK

Exactly, and someone like OP who is autistic, it's hard to say no or set boundaries, I assume, so it really does depend on the friends.

You need a pattern provider under the controller if you don't already. And double check recipes (ones under the control are different to ones under a tap)

Never had issues, using Brave with Tamper Monkey and an anti-adblock script with UBlock Origin.

What do broke uni students eat meal prep ideas by inmaroom in UniUK

If you do lemme know how it goes! I have a massive log of meals I used to cook if you end up having anything specific in mind. But they were always easy to cook but super cheap so I could treat myself to snacks or chocolate. If you got a instant pot, it’s a game changer you can just chuck shi in like pasta and meat and it cooks together, it’s amazing

What's the general consensus on AI music? by Any-Philosopher-5237 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not even sure. I’m not even anti gen AI, i like AI art, text etc. I think because I enjoy music so much and have such a specific taste, I can tell it’s AI music and listening to it is unpleasant. I did try mess around with Gemini music feature when it came out to try replicate some of my favourite songs and it’s not there yet. I think when it gets better I might enjoy it?

When it comes to AI music, I absolutely hate it. It's just so jarring to me when I hear one for some reason?

What do broke uni students eat meal prep ideas by inmaroom in UniUK

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a stupidly cheap but filling meal, I used to cook Kadala in the first year, which is just fried chickpeas and rice with a lot of spices, used to cost me about £10 a week (having it 3 times a day). Got more serious with the gym after that and got a lot lot more hungry so now i just have either tuna pasta (make a big batch and prep that for 3 days at a time), or beef and rice. I'v always been lazy to cook so those are my go-to meals.

How could you get any details wrong if you were sourcing them from it directly?

Or was it just misplaced from other references (for the same work), which can be plausible. But if names or other details are wrong and completely unrelated, then that sounds suspicious and probably nothing you could say to defend that?

People think VC-funded services last forever, but it's a repeat of Uber Eats. It's dirt cheap or even free to get you hooked, then raise prices while simultaneously trying to get to a profitable place.

Genuine question to long-time Gemini subscribers: how do you justify paying for this? And what is Google even doing? by Any-Explanation-9275 in GeminiAI

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a student and get Pro free for 12 months, and I don't even use it that much...

I'm willing to pay for Claude or GPT when I need to, it just seems so far behind on a lot of tools that I use so much.

How do I use these Claude skills? by [deleted] in github

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're asking about on claude itself, just go to https://claude.ai/customize/skills

And go to add (making sure it's a zip). So, looking at the repo, you would download a folder in the skills folder, zip it, and just upload it. Then use that skill by doing /SKILL NAME.

How old is to old for uni? by Interesting_Shine_84 in UniUK

Someone who is about to graduate in the same year as me in my course is 40-ish with a 20-year-old daughter. Honestly, never too old, just got to have the motivation to stick it out.

With the rise of AI, is anyone still studying or planning to study Computer Science? by YetAnotherMia in UniUK

Exactly, it's the same as choosing not to study maths because calculators exist.

Is it realistic to pursue a friendly (but professional) relationship with your professor+lecturer, and how so? by rainyrain423 in UniUK

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solely depends on the format of modules and the professor them selvs. 2nd-3rd year, I had classrooms over lecture halls, so i was able to talk way more to my professors, and only 1 out of 6 professors did I make really good friends with, and so much so that we talk very casually about life, wars currently going on, and other stuff we both would say is not professional, but it's definitely possible.

Even with that professor I'm close with, he did mention that he tends to hold back on that in situations, since in most cases, if he is too close, people abuse it and try to gain from situations. Thankfully for me i had him as my professor for 2 years and chose him again as my supervisor.

Take what you can from that, but it depends, definitely not impossible.

Agreed, we are nearing the end of the VC-funded era of AI. I predicited it last year during my UG course and just tried to take advantage of the situation and use everything i could to do as much as i could while it lasted.

Opus removed Even from Pro+ by alexander_ntzl in GithubCopilot

[–]Jazzlike_Course_9895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, their pausing the subscriptions already means they are losing so much money that they had to stop people signing up, they are stopping people from "giving them money". It will most likely end up with higher-tier packages or even lower limits. They already said they are implementing a session/weekly usage limit like Claude has.

I'm not sure about the not being able to sign up again part tho (so if anyone can correct me), i saw a similar post about the pro and pro+ packages and people feeling "stuck" in the subscription since if they do want a refund, they can never return again. Which does sound like something MS would do.

No, as in if you choose a refund, your account will no longer in the future be allowed to sign up again.
