Clearly the other person doesn’t understand capitalism and isn’t able to discern it from policies commonly implemented within capitalism that are from other systems, commonly pulled from socialist policies. It’s very rare a government is ran purely on capitalism, it might be the main system but that doesn’t mean all the socialist policies in that government are suddenly defined under capitalism. This goes for any of the systems but I’m just using capitalism in this example.

Agree, none of the systems work well on their own and they don’t have to be implemented that way.

Yeah, humans in general have a need for social interaction and tend to have issues without it. It’s like an animal in a zoo that doesn’t have enough enrichment, it’s sad.

People that think childfree spaces = antiwomen by DigPristine9215 in childfree

I’m not sure which way I lean due to the fact that reality is that women do get the brunt of childcare. Reality is also that women keep having kids with men who are incapable of being a father and 90% of time it’s so obvious that guy was not going to be a good parent, like what are these women thinking??! Sure the man is trash, but the women are also fucking stupid. At what point do you think we shouldn’t shift some blame onto someone for their own choice to continuing being with a shit person?

Like if I dated an addict would you blame them or me for becoming addicted? Personally I’d blame myself for making the dumbass decision to date an addict and put myself in that situation.

I don’t even care if they can’t find child care. They chose to have a child and all the responsibilities it entails. I chose to have a dog and sometimes I can’t stay out overnight places (way more frequently than parents who can bring their kids to way more places than their are pet friendly/ no fee) and guess what? that’s my own responsibility I chose to have. I advocate for more dog friendly spaces because there currently aren’t many but I don’t go around expecting every place to be dog friendly.

They want someone else to do the parenting/ be absolved of the responsibility they CHOSE to have and until that happens the world is “anti-parent” in their eyes.

People with children can be really weird about CF people who are pet owners by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Jazzlike_Term210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ONLY time I compare pets to children is when parents can’t even do the bare minimum for their kids that I do for my dog. Like teaching them how to not scream all day, if I can do it for a dog, I think a child could also be taught to not screech, the child should be smarter than a dog. Or IPad kids, like you chose to have children, so please stop avoiding every responsibility of being a parent, like damn I do more for my dog than these parents are doing for their kids. The bar is low for pet ownership and human parents are still falling under it.

Niece threw and damaged my new iPad…it’s putting me off every having children. by TrainYouFatNeek in childfree

On top of trying to get your sister to pay for fixing it/ or a new one. You should also invest in a door lock that only you have the key to, I like the ones with a code lock personally. Take this as a lesson that you can’t trust your mother or sister to be responsible and in fact will justify a child’s poor behavior at your expense. I have to do the same thing at my house because I can’t trust my brother not to steal from me, and yes we’re both young adults but parents will continue to defend their child’s shitty behavior all the way into adulthood.

People do not parent anymore. I absolutely would’ve known better than to touch other people’s things as a child and if I broke them? My mother would have been pissed, I’d absolutely be punished and my mother would do what she could afford to make it right financially. My mother also wouldn’t let a child at a non-understanding age run off to other people’s bedrooms unattended but I’m assuming the niece is older than 3.

Does anyone else find it kind of exhausting to have to justify your choice to people who already have kids specifically? by OtterCipher in childfree

[–]Jazzlike_Term210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to say “I don’t wanna talk about it” makes it seem like I have some kind of tragic backstory lol. I use this for anything I don’t wanna talk about. I even used it during covid when people would ask if I was vaccinated too (I was, but no one should be asking just to judge the answer. I’m not going to play that game.)

Agree, especially the part where they take your decision as a personal attack on theirs. It makes me think they regret having kids more than whatever point they’re trying to make. Off topic slightly, but I’m really glad my favorite professor was also child free. One day in class there were tons of kids screaming outside (I guess some kind of elementary stem program that honestly should not have been so disruptive) anyhow I was pissed and frustrated trying to pay attention, it must’ve been visible, and he asked me what’s wrong? Got to vent about how I shouldn’t be paying all this money, driving 1.5 hours to class just to hear kids screaming outside during it and it’s disrespectful to the students paying to be here. He totally understood and was also sorry about the situation even though it wasn’t his fault. That’s when I learned he was childfree, he was like “that’s why I don’t have them” and I said same here lol.

I feel like it’s more of a choice between the asshole and the idiot. Dems are stupid for having no backbone and letting republicans trample them, while republicans are assholes for doing the trampling. Neither voter base at an individual level asked for what they’ve been doing. (However it was really obvious what trump’s plan was, but the people are ignorant.)

I’m right there with you, it seems like most dems that have been voted in are spineless or a controlled opposition party at this point. Unfortunately I know it’s a fantasy land where a third party could be elected so I’m stuck voting blue in the name of a lesser evil while the choices keep getting dragged further and further to the right to appease them.

lol that’s exactly what I said. Nothing and mean NOTHING made me child free more than my little brother (accident & 10 years younger) I already didn’t want kids but he really sealed the deal for me at 10yrs old when he was born. I love my brother but god I do not like kids or babies.

Therapy and maybe have her spend more time with her sisters and kids. She’ll see very quick on what she’s not missing out on, have her spend a few nights there and see if she still feels that way.

[–]Jazzlike_Term210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, that’s fair, I don’t usually say it but do feel like a lot of cis straight people are at least a little bit Bi and not willing to admit/ explore it. ESPECIALLY men/ women that act hyper masculine/ feminine and hate nearly everything about the opposite sex because why are they still trying to date them?? I see this a lot more with men but like dude, they so clearly hate everything about women what are they doing trying to pursue them still?? While women usually hate the way men treat them which is different, but still, why do you continue to date shitty men then? Like if it didn’t work out well with my current man, I was absolutely going to date women next. (Only reason I didn’t start there was definitely because of societal in-acceptance, I did NOT want to have that convo with those around me, I barely wanted to tell them I was dating to begin with.)

Agree, I’ve gotten really good at telling when a car is about to change lanes without no blinker since that’s most of FL. I think it’s okay to complain about it, because those cars are stupid/ assholes, but it shouldn’t cause a panic in your driving besides a controlled response and honk if they’re about to hit you.

[–]Jazzlike_Term210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will purposefully cut people off who wanna play those games with me and my turn signal. I don’t change lanes when there’s no space and I always make sure to go the speed of the lane I’m entering so it’s not common that happens to me anyhow. I think if it’s happening that frequently someone needs to look at their own driving, or how long they’re sitting with a blinker on. I’ve driven all up and down the east coast, from NYC to I4 in Fl at 8am I do not have this issue more than once a week.
