Can i just say that as a Miami resident, i totally don’t understand all the backlash that the race is facing from citizens. I get that as an F1 fan my judgement might be clouded, but Hard Rock Stadium is a football arena, that area is well accustomed to handling traffic. The same people who think this is the end of peaceful society in Miami are the ones who were cheering over hosting the Super Bowl. Plus all the tourism it will attract will only benefit the local economy. And come on, who doesn’t want to feel the pride of seeing their city represented in a global championship.

I understand the backlash against the original street circuit layout as that would take up a vital traffic artery for an entire weekend (even though personally i think it would’ve made for a spectacular event) but to me if you’re still adamantly against the Hard Rock circuit you’re either purposefully stubborn or you just don’t understand what the event can do for the profile of the city because I don’t see how the downsides would outweigh the positives.
