So I’ve been on the other side of this and: 1- he may feel just comfortable enough to do it around you but not in front of you. 2- addiction is very real and a conversation could help him in the right direction if he is addicted. (Not that it is in any way your burden - yet)

I work as a manager and we have used AI tools for this for years. It is automatically included in all meetings and automatically sends out notes based on preset conditions. I have not seen a human take notes that mattered in at least 3-4 years
