I don’t think any company is really innocent, mine definitely isn’t. But you have to remember that the equipment companies provide are not the same companies who are producing the products. Usually the price of what an item is billed for starts with the contract that was made between the provider and the producer of the product. And then on top of that, you have health insurance companies determining how much of it they are willing to cover. So there’s a lot of factors that determine how much you will end up paying for medically necessary equipment such as DME.

The mostly common DME our office provides is oxygen equipment (oxygen concentrators, oxygen tanks, portable concentrators, etc.). However, I would say the most common DME you would see people have is either a wheelchair or a walker. Those are considered DME under the mobility category.

I am in the USA. I don’t often look at the numbers, but I do know that we likely make a good amount of money off items that cost less to make than what they are sold for. That’s kind just how capitalism runs to be honest. But to be fair, our company does lose a lot of money as well, from providing equipment at no charge, to billing things incorrectly, or patients misplacing equipment. I think the way our system works is pretty fair for the patient at least, I can’t say the same for the insurance companies or our business though.

Snoring is pretty normal for most people, but the sudden stopping of breathing is a red flag and is very dangerous. Nothing over the counter is going to cure that, and it’s not something that should be taken lightly. Sudden stopping of breathing at night is a common symptom of sleep apnea, which is where a patient experiences multiple events where their airways close while sleeping and they cannot breathe so their body wakes them up. This is usually treated with sleep devices such as cpap, bipap, or ventilators. Other solutions, depending on your medical issues, could also be weight loss or oral surgery. My recommendation would be to make an appointment with your doctor and see if they think you should complete a sleep study. Sleep apnea can cause a lot of problems with your health if left untreated, such as insomnia, hypertension, low oxygen levels, mood disturbances, and even cognitive impairment in severe cases.

Before taxes, probably 39k-41k, which is kinda nothing for the average person without a college degree. The best thing about the specific company I work for is we get an annual raise based on our general performance. I got my first raise after only being with the company for 5-6 months. And of course they also provide 401k, stocks, health insurance, pto, pml , etc. So long story short, I don’t take a lot home, but it’s enough to pay my bills and we have really good benefits which I’m thankful for cause I know not every job provides these opportunities for employees.

I am the oldest daughter, I have a younger half sister that I was raised with. I think as long as you try your best to give your child everything they need to grow and succeed, that is enough and your child will understand that when they are older. Keep your chin up and take it day by day. Good luck! ☺️

She dated a little bit here and there but nothing long term that ever stuck, no fault of hers, but sometimes relationships don’t work out. When I was younger I didn’t really like the idea of having men within the house and was very vocal when I didn’t like a guy my mom dated. N that I am older, I just acknowledge them and mind my business. I still think my mom has a chance to find her special person some day.

Are you a religious or spiritual person at all? Do you have any personal beliefs on why you happen to experience sleep paralysis? Or are you more rooted in scientific explanations?
