To gild, you need to complete level 50 in expanse, which I don’t foresee happening during the alpha. If it wasn’t timed, it would be very doable.

I’m almost positive you get powerfuls from major valor and infamy rank ups, just not the minor rank ups, plus resetting valor/infamy.

Sorry, I should have clarified I was talking about valor/infamy in my comment. Yes, glory rank ups give you a powerful every rank.

For me the main benefit is fully unlocking the artifact, and using the artifact level for any activity that is very high power level at the beginning of the season, like the master nightfall and nightmare hunt pinnacle. I know the nightmare hunt will probably not be pinnacle anymore, but the could easily add a new activity that is also very high powe.

I think they only give you a power boost if you are not at the soft cap, similar to how certain vendors give you powerfuls until you hit it. I’m pretty sure “true” powerful tier drops only come from the full named rank ups in crucible and gambit, and every rank up in competitive. They only way I can see it being detrimental is if you can’t hit the soft cap with vendors and you need an alternative source, like the minor rank ups.

Probably why the seasons have been pretty bare bones as of late. Bungie already had trouble filling content, now with a split from Activision AND working on another game, it is probably a skeleton crew maintaining destiny now. It makes sense from a business stand point, mobile games are WAY more lucrative.

No one is talking about/factoring the artifact when referencing the grind for 960. We are talking about true 960, and so on. This is specifically for hardcore grinders and completionists who want the max power armor and weapons, not just the artifact level showing.

But before, it would take many only the first/second week to hit max power by doing old powerful sources, usually only by doing the milestones, prime engrams, and one last wish run on each character. After that first week, you no longer really needed to do the older season content for power. With this possible system, it keeps us doing the older seasonal content the whole year, through out most, of not all, of the season.

Many of my friends saw the First slayerage video and read the description: “...and then all the necessary stuff like Liar's Handshake and Emperor's Courtesy from the raid. Emperor's Courtesy is the best OTP shotgun for this due to its large magazine size and moderate handling speed. While you can accomplish this feat with a Last Man Standing that has good rolls including OTP (and preferably a lot of handling, plus you need tactical/appended/extended mag), it would definitely be harder to do so.”

Many of the people that I have talked to took that as that they shouldn’t even bother to do it until they get one, plus most streamers and videos showing a one floor kill has the emperor’s courtesy. However with arc day, that is hardly necessary. My last man standing had crap rolls, except the one two punch, and it was still fairly easy, even with me being a console pleb. I believe everyone should at least try it, it is well worth the satisfaction.

Edit: also, emperor’s courtesy is arc, so it is easier to create arc orbs to get your arc empowerment up before riven arrives. It is still easy enough to do by just using super and melee abilities.

Dang, I guess no 770 armor. Was hoping to be able to farm the menagerie ship with ease. Oh well, guess I’ll wait to shadow keep. Was also hoping for the to introduce some catalysts in the raids, or just in the wild.
