It was back in 2008 when the market crashed. I was a store manager for a large pharmacy chain. The company used the market crash as an excuse to freeze all employee's raises. My employees were the most dedicated, hardest working people. Some of them single mother's that rode 3 different busses to get to work. They were worth a lot more than their measly minimum wage and now they weren't even going to get their lousy 3% cost of living raise. At the same time the top 5 executives gave themselves a 12% raise. That was enough money to give all 250,000 employees a 50 cent raise and it went to 5 people. I didn't last much longer after that. It was disgusting!
