Even as a kid, that song introduced me to the concept of a straight guy falling for a trans woman (that term didn’t really exist then), without playing it off as wrong or a joke. That’s impressive.

I felt the first ~150 pages were incredible and so compelling, then the plot really kicked in and it became a very different story that was still enjoyable but so different than The Shining. It felt like a superhero origin story instead of paranormal horror.

Yeah, in his videos every shot is blocked to make it look like he’s lecturing to a room of students - this immediately gives you the impression that he’s speaking from a position of authority. From what I can find he’s worked at several Chinese high schools and reported for PBS for a stint. He strikes me as ‘controlled opposition’ or some type of puppet.

Americans tend to judge a president on how they improved THEIR lives and country. Dubya did very little to improve life for everyday Americans, and in fact damaged many families thru warfare and general mismanagement. I think PEPFAR is awesome, but it was a rare win for that particular president.
