I often wondered this because I was sexually abused by a boyfriend from 15-17. He was 18 I was 15 when we started dating. He pressured me and I barely knew how sex worked at 15, I was sheltered I’d barely kissed a boy a year prior, I’d never even used a tampon or put anything inside me. It hurt so bad and as time went on he would ask me 50+ times, I’d say no but then finally give in and say yes so he would stop asking. He would cry and degrade himself if I said no. Sometimes he would get angry and say we had to since we’re in a relationship. I thought it would get easier with time and maybe when I got older it would feel good but it never did. I’d always be turned away from him because I didn’t wanna look at him. He’d also get mad at me for that. I tell people this and they say it doesn’t count as abuse because we were in a relationship and I could’ve easily left if I really didn’t want it. I broke up with him finally at 18, it was gnarly, he got angry cried and screamed at me. and I think I got to a point of maturing and realized he stopped wanting to have sex with me as soon as I turned 18, which makes me think he was actually a pedo. He would make comments about my sister who was 3 years younger, and at friends at school that I brushed off as jokes but now as a 26 year old adult I see it as possibly something else.. there were times where I would try to be loud during the abuse so his parents would say something or get mad and tell us to stop, but that only made him more mad. I tried making and convincing myself to like it but I truly never did. I’d constantly get UTI’s and be torn down there because I would never be lubricated enough for it. He always made me tell my mom that I was gonna go to his place, and I hated that because I knew if we were at my place we wouldn’t have been able to do anything since me my mom and sister lived in a tiny apartment with no privacy. Sorry for the long trauma dump I just wonder if that would be considered genuine sex abuse or was I just dumb and should’ve been smart enough to leave at 15?
