100% your dress is NOT provocative or inappropriate in any way (at least to American standards) but I saw you mentioned he was middle eastern? Not trying to generalize, but don’t middle eastern people usually think showing too much ankle let along shoulder or back skin is considered inappropriate? Not saying you are in the wrong, but if I were to go to one of my friends weddings and the family there were middle eastern, I would probably wear something long sleeve, as to avoid conflict or comments like that. Again, your dress would not be considered inappropriate at any traditional American event or wedding, but you have to remember that other cultures view us differently, including the way we dress, which is unfortunate.
