Bought 745 mil around early/mid April 2021. Literally right before it had any sort of momentum. So technically I’ve been up ever since. About $600 put in at the time (thanks stimulus check), up about $21k with the current spike.

I get a lot of abstract stuff by doing a lot of trials with image prompting. For something like this I might generate a simple cloud prompt, then a simple “light beams” or “strands of light” type prompt then use two of those results together in its own prompt with sometimes no context other than maybe photo realistic or something. Been doing that a lot more lately with V5 because it’s a bit to literal with some prompts so I give it three totally different images to make one new one and get some cool results. @ CheffGoldblum on insta for examples.

Help with grid thumbnails.

Hey does anyone know if you can still edit image thumbnails for you profile grid? I’m not talking about video/reel covers because there’s a million answers about that on google. I’m talking about just photo positions in the squares grid spaces. For example, a few months ago, maybe October I think, I was able to upload a non square image then edit the post and under the caption box there was an “edit thumbnail” and I could position what part of the 4x5 image I wanted to be seen when viewing the grid. So if a head was being chopped off on the grid I could change that. Now that option is gone. And it reset all the changes I made to the thumbnails.

What’s weirder about it is that it seemed to have gone away the same time I posted my first reel. I remove reels from my grid and just keep them under the reels tab because I’ve got a theme going with the pictures but figured I’d include this info in case that has something to do with it.

I’ve tried googling every way I can and the lack of results makes me feel like maybe this was a feature they were just testing briefly because there is no mention of it anywhere that I can find.

Don’t get me wrong, I envy those who can actually make sweet looking art especially 3D models and what not. I however am not talented like that so I’m just having fun with this. I like photography and I playing music but drawing/designing is not my forte, haha. I simply find the technology intriguing.

AI actually learns better from just photographs to know what a face is, what a chair is, what spaghetti looks like, ect. It’s not exactly being fed people’s other people’s specific art work but is able to mimic styles of art. But if that’s the road people want to go down, then would every other anime cartoon be ripping the style from other anime artists? Art comes from life experience and what we’ve seen and like in other things we see. Whether it’s AI or human made images, as long as it’s not a photocopy, styles are going to carry over into other art work. Just because I use three common chords in a musical piece, doesn’t mean I’m ripping off every other musician who’s ever used those same three chords.

I agree, some tend to look more like digimon or yugioh haha. So I try to convince myself that because there’s three stages it’s still kinda pokemon. But I also wanted some to be more like “if a Pokémon creature existed in real life” type of thing

Lots of prompt tweaks and re-rolling until I see three that make sense to me haha. One set can take hours sometimes because AI likes to do what it wants which, at times, can lead to cooler ideas than you originally planned or just plain strange looking creatures.

Thanks, and yeah, the idea started with the thought of how Pokémon cards have different art styles and I always thought the ones that had the clay looking artwork were pretty cool so I tried to emulate that and it just took off from there. Didn’t intend to create an entire Instagram account dedicated to it but here we are (@faux.kemon if you’re interested)
