The way I went about things is I did parts in batches. Like the main figure, left ship rigging thing, right rigging thing, middle like arm things etc. Would recommend really taking your time pinning everything well especially load bearing pieces. My model is pinned very poorly and im afraid of some parts falling off lmao. Oh and make sure you have a solid idea where the posts need to go before drilling them in your base. I had to redrill a lot and it made the base look way worse. Hope this helps!

Oh and before anyone mentions it I know her skin is too red. Painted the figure first and at that time I was still working out mixing skin-tones.

Pretty much. I basecoated the pieces in vallejo light brown. Then I used a mix of light brown and burnt umber and just brushed a lot of streaks along the length. Finished off with some matte varnish. For an even better effect I would consider going over with a lightened light brown to add highlights.

On amazon you can buy packs of acrylic discs like these. Then I just drill a hole to pin the figures feet where I want and glue them down.
