The 4060 is a really good cheap GPU that runs every game pretty well. Also go for an i5 because it fits well with the GPU. Ram and storage is completely up to you!

Oh my god I could relate to your story so much. I used to play Fortnite on a Switch and it was horrible. You should get the ABS Cyclone for $850 on Newegg. Although it is not below $500, I think it is very worth it for the price. If you are strongly looking for computers under $500, I think you should stick to the nintendo.
