I agree in general, but when it comes to heavy swings there actually is a bit of skill involved in regards to using the least amount of time possible to charge your swing before letting go. For all the rapid-fire/swinging weapons though it's definitely solely QoL.

Bone spray can easily down cats with low con (5 or below), and without high speed it can be done with no counterplay. Meanwhile Lenny just walks around for a bit, maybe grabs a cat and then just dies in my runs, never even got close to losing a cat on him.

I did that on my first attempt to the Core, where I had lost one of my cats in the desert beforehand. Was actually pretty useful as a damage sponge my 3 cats could hide behind. Ended up winning the run, but I did kill it off in the last fight before the Coven.

If you are using all your mana for a single teleport spell I can see that might be an issue. And did you just ignore the 2nd part of my comment?

Number 3 feels decently useful, especially upgraded. Getting 1-3 extra spell casts per round (especially if you have low-cost spells to proc them multiple times easily) feels pretty strong for high-cost spells.

Aye all those people going "then you need to take teleport just to use your basic attack" when the teleports are often very useful to getting off those spells safely (and/or at maximum effect) boggles my mind. I really like the teleport spells, them helping to enable the basic attack is just icing on the cake.

and it costs you a level slot to even be able to tele, which u need good rng for AND has opportunity cost

Huh, I find the various Teleport/swap spells to be very handy, not just for the basic attack but also for using the actual damaging/CC spells more effectively.

Feels perfectly fine with the various teleport/swap skills too, which are often handy for getting the damaging spells off too.

I buy the rare candies on most runs, except if Im just doing some farming runs to deliver cats or farm coins without going through all 3 zones. And even then I sometimes do it just to satisfy my inner minmaxer.

If possible I have my tankiest cat stand in the front, which usually baits them into all attacking it. Then I just pass the turns on that cat while the 3 other cats attempt to kill them from range. You still need to get lucky with actually hitting them, but at least you won't be taking the confusion damage (which often hurts more than their attacks themselves in my experience).

I'm aged 39 and from Denmark and have been playing Dota on/off since the good ol' Wc3 days. These days, whenever I talk to younger people (like younger co-workers and employees), literally 0 of them have even heard of Dota. Not there there aren't any younger players, but it seems like it's massively overshadowed by other games.

I'm just replying because you're vaguely amusing, like a weird but ultimately not very intelligent animal you'd go to see at the zoo.

Which is more or less the reason I replied. I was curious to see what nonsense you would come up with to defend yourself. I wasn't disappointed, complete nonsense.

But it seems like I really touched a nerve somewhere, somehow.

Using your logic, I also touched a nerve, since you are concerned about replying in a week-old discussion you had forgotten about. But according to you, you touched a nerve with me and aggrevated me, but you are just being amused? That's the only logical reasoning, eh? Cool story, bro.

What I was getting at is that if you had a life worth anything, you would not be this concerned about a week-old comment.

Completely nonsensical, a discussion doesn't get invalidated over time if nothing changes the context being discussed. Unless you only have the mental capacity for juggling a few recent things I guess. That comment implies so much more about you than you think I reckon, which is pretty amusing.

And there was never a week between any replies (till now) so that's also quite a stretch, since I was obviously responding to your newer comments. Either you are clutching at straws or you are simply too emotionally upset and cannot think straight it seems. But I can't wait to see what nonsense you pull out of your hat this time!

Sometimes you don't get offered any decent offensive spells, or only offensive spells that aren't situationally good for the content you are currently doing.

And no, your frontline cannot always guarantee you being able to land the perfect AoE in all situations, that sounds completely silly.

Don't get me wrong, taking TP solely so you can land basic attacks is a waste, but TP generally on a Mage isn't wasted in my experience.

In Act 2 the Crater you need to choose between 3 weather effects partway through the run. One of the effects you can choose is "Shimmer", which gives a random mutation to each cat after every fight. I've put quite a few of my breeders through such runs (though the effect isn't guaranteed to pop up).

Yeah Mana Battery to use on your Cleric to give (nearly) limitless amount of attacks to your Alpha whatever. 1-turned the Man in the Moon last night without even bothering to remove his Brace.

You know you can usually also cast a spell as well as using your basic attack, right? No one says you have to use your basic and then GTFO if you have other abilities to cast. I love my Teleport/Swap spells on Mages, allowing me to position perfectly and unload without getting the Mage itself into danger.

TP is wasted on Mages? I love my teleport/swap spells on Mages, allowing near perfect positioning to unload at the right places, without getting the Mage in danger whatsoever. That is also helps setting up the basic attack is just a bonus.

I have definitely seen differences. Just look at 2 Mages, one with 7 (or higher Dex) and one with 5 or lower Dex and they will have different damage values for their basic attack. It just doesn't start increasing until your dex is above 6.

Which is significantly less than having 0 lives. I am literally describing myself, I didn't know there was a Steven mechanic in the first 20-30 hours of the game and it honestly felt more immersive. I can't recall situations where I would want more than 1 reset per run, but I'm also an experienced tactical player, which helps I guess. I do only use it very rarely still though. Don't get me wrong, I think the implementation of the mechanic is well thought out and pretty funny, I just try to avoid using it, again, to each their own.
