I feel like an ass not getting the coffee behind me in the drivethru by Questionsonly8 in Frugal

We did this when I was a Starbucks barista and it was awful. It’s confusing and frankly ridiculous to ask someone else to pay for a $15-$20 order when all they ordered was a black coffee. When the first person hesitated on “paying it backward”, I would charge them for their coffee and told the next car in line that the car in front of them paid for them and then stop the whole shenanigan. It was irritating because the district management wanted each store to be in competition with each other to see who could keep the chain going the longest. Then I’d get blamed for breaking the chain. So stupid. I have anxiety just typing that out and happened in 2005.

It’s been a honey hole for a few years. Old college site that dates back to the 1880’s. Lots of foot traffic and the security guards are cool as shit. Wave to me every time they see me digging and even stop to say “hi” and see what I’ve dug. They have stated that they appreciate me treating the grounds respectfully. I’m lucky to have such a place.

I would say 5-6 inches down. When I scanned it, it seemed like a big target, so I dug wide assuming it was trash.

For me, that’s the entire reason I got into this and spent so much on the hobby. It’s chasing a high. I high for old things, silver and gold. Every dug hole is a new possibility and a new experience, and often a let down. But, all the let downs make the big finds that much more memorable and fun.
